Hello. How's everyone? Good I hope. I'm new to the forums....but not to the site (I've used this site before purchasing the bulk of my anime).
First of all, I'd like to say thanks to anyone who's put time and efforts into reviewing anime/manga. I think what goes on here it great. I appreciate and enjoy anime and manga, but, of course, I like to know content from a Christian perspective before purchase and this is just the place. Also, I think it's great to meet more people like me who are Christians and enjoy anime.
As for me....well, I grew up in a Christian home (home office missionary home in fact), and I (believe) I was saved at the age of four (listening to Patch the Pirate in Space was a big influence). Not sure, however, I made absolute sure at the age of 18 or 19 and believe it's never a bad idea to make sure of your salvation! Currently, I work for a land surveyor in the hill countries of Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. I love working in AWANA and Children's Church.
Of course, I enjoy anime (or I wouldn't be here, right?)
My favorites include Dragonball Z, Trigun, Gundam Wing, any of the UC Gundam series (especially 0080....LOVE IT!)...and some others.
I read plenty of manga as well (haha). I think Rurouni Kenshin is my favorite, but Trigun/Trigun Maximum is a close second (or first... I DUNNO!). I highly respect manga writers due to the fact that they write and draw their stories.
I'm a gamer too. Super Smash Bros. Brawl and pretty much any King of Fighter/SNK or Capcom fighter....those are my favorites.
Music's a big deal too. Danny Elfman, John Williams, Bernard Herrmann, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Richard Wagner.....yeah. My music taste leans more that way, but there's nothing wrong with Nobuo Uematsu and The Black Mages :thumb:
I also like writing stories and I consider W.S. Gilbert the greatest literary genius ever.
So, that's pretty much me! Hope to see you all around the boards!
Oh, my avatar is a sprite edit of "me" (well, sort of), and my name means "Shining Eagle"....apparently, that's what my real name means. Whatever.
And....the signature needs no explaining :P

Whoa, so you're a UC Gundam fan? Those are rare around here. 0080 was fantastic. I'm also a fan of the First Gundam movies (see avatar XD). I've seen Zeta, but have mixed feelings about it. I'm currently working my way through Double Zeta, which is really fun.

Anyway, nice to meet you. See you around.

My favorite Kenshin character? Hmmmm....I'd probably have to go with Kenshin himself or Kenshin's master (just because that design was so awesome), but it's hard for me to pick out my favorites because I think Watsuki did such a good job with his characters.
Yes, I love the UC series. I wish the art was a little more up to date (at least on Zeta), but it's OK. I wish the ending of Zeta had a little more closure, because I was kind of like "What?" at the end, but oh well.

Yeah, the ending was major "lol wut" material. I think if it'd had a better ending, I would've liked it a little more.

Hello and a very warm welcome to you. I hope you enjoy it here. ^_^
From the music composers you mentioned, I take it you like the music of movies? I don't suppose you like Hans Zimmer's music scores as well?

Mmmm....Hans Zimmer.....I like his Pirates score (especially the homage to Ennio Morricone....another one of my favorites in the 3rd) and "Gladiator", but I haven't listened to alot of his other stuff.
As for surveying.....yeah, I've seen it all. From the guy who owns Krystal (we surveyed next to him) to places you think you're gonna get shot for even looking at their property....it's crazy.....and Metroid's one of my other favorite games.

- Abraham Kuyper

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther
