Felix (post: 1218274) wrote:<.< Dude, that concept has almost nothing in common with Death Note. That's like saying that Gears of War is a Medal of Honor knock-off because they're both about war.
Anyway, I think this game looks awesome. I love the style and whole downtown Japan vibe of the game. Kinda reminds me of Jet Grind Radio, actually. I'll probably pick it up come the 22nd.
TWEWY is about a boy named Neku Sakaraba who wakes up in what seems to be Shibuya.
He figures out he can read minds
"Reach 104, you have sixty minutes. Fail, and you will die. -Reapers".
This is a certain game called "The Reapers' Game" that Neku has to play.
It lasts a week, and if Neku leaves Shibuya or quits the game, all the players will be stricken from existence.

Death Note is about some kid named Light Yagami.
Spike figures he can bag criminals for fast cash.
Light figures he can kill criminals for godhood.
Spike needs to bring them in alive though, or no deal.
Light need to know their names though, or no deal.
Spike has to face the Syndicate and Vicious.
Light has to face the Japanese police department and L.
Lots of assassins, lots of shinigami.
In conclusion, Death Note is a rip off of Cowboy Bebop.

I'll give you that one, the main character isn't a Light Yagami clone for the yaoi fangirls to eat up. No, in this case, it's a Sora clone.
If you look to your left, we have your plotline equivalent of the Death Note notebook.
There's DN's '13 day rule' from the notebook.
Here's the whole 'L and police vs. Kira' thing.
More asinine rules similar to those in the 'notebook.'
LOLSHINIGAMI
Oh, also note the cast full of emo/punk rock-style characters. Totally not appealing to the Death Note crowd.
So I'll take back what I said. It's not like Death Note. It's like Death Note written by the Kingdom Hearts guy. I'm surprised there's no Mickey Mouse in this one >__>

You're willing to go to all ends, including lying or saying that everything that's related to death is a knockoff of Death Note, aren't you?
1. Good job, you just killed part of your arguement. Oh, and spikey orange hair is all he has in common with Sora to my knowledge.
2. No we don't.
We totally don't.
How does reading minds equal writing down names and killing people?
3. And that's a completely different situation. On top of that, it's nothing like L and the cops vs. Kira.
4. So rules in a twisted game are uncommon and automatically rip off Death Note?
Pretty much everything has rules. And most of the rules writen in the Death Note were guidelines, if I recall correctly
5. If you honestly think that reapers and Shinigamis started off with Death Note.... Then wow.
6. Yeah. They're teenagers. Lotsa teens are like that.

everdred12a (post: 1218352) wrote:I don't recall saying that. Once again, however, you don't think that the recent success of Death Note hasn't influenced that in the least bit?
everdred12a (post: 1218352) wrote:Except for the part where he looks exactly like Sora.
It's a plot vehicle similar to the notebook.
So what part of it is different? A battle of minds and wills is totally not the same as L/Police vs. Kira.
Not completely, but can you really say for sure that the recent success of DN hasn't influenced this in the least bit?
So that makes it original?
