prayer request and a praise report

Postby Lynx » Wed Apr 16, 2008 6:47 pm

Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I've been around CAA.

Well here's a quick update and praise report. I'm graduating this may from college. I've been accepted to medical school, so I will be attending medical school this fall.

I have some major decisions to make, so some prayer would be appreciated. My boyfriend, who also applied to medical school, is waitlisted at the school I've been accepted at. We've been together for 1.5 years, and going to the same medical school would be great.

Also, I may need to make a decision between two schools. School 1 is the one that I'm accepted at and my boyfriend is waitlisted at. It's a great primary care school. However, it's really really expensive. It would probably be my top choice. However, I'm also waitlisted at this other school. School 2 is Ivy League, cheaper, but doesn't rank as highly in primary care. My boyfriend also was rejected here. I can help my chances of getting off the waitlist if I write them a letter explaining why their school is my top choice and what I've done with my life since they made me come down for an interview.

My advisors are telling me to shoot for school 2 because the name of the school holds more weight than school 1, and I can get "better jobs" and all that. I don't know. Do I shoot for school 2, or do I stick with school 1 and hope to go to school with my boyfriend?

I could use your prayers and opinions on this matter.

Thanks!

I don't really know what you should do, but I would say just keep praying about it. I know you hear that all the time, but it's really what you do when you face a decision. Usually God will give you peace about one choice and the other just won't feel right. I pray that God shows you clearly what decision you need to make.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I'll pray for wisdom in your decision.
