Pray for my Seminary Evaluation

Postby CDLviking » Thu Mar 25, 2004 1:20 pm

My Vocation director is coming up next week for evaluations, and I just found out that mine isn't going to be glowing. It's not going to be horrible either, but I tought I was doing a lot better than some of the formation directors did. I think most of it is a misunderstanding because they don't know me very well. They seem to see me as a cold fearsome person, which is the exact opposite of the way I see myself. I feel very strongly about my vocation, but they don't seem to be too sure. I hope things will clear up by the time my vocation director gets here. Pray that my evaluation goes well, but most importantly that God's will is done and not my own.

I really don't need yet another item on my prayer list, but I saw this without any responses and felt obligated...

A friend of mine just went for his Thesis Evaluation, so it's on my mind. I'll definitely pray for you, and for God's will.

My seminary professors and representatives seemed a little more supportive than what you are discribing. Regardless, I'll be lifting you up in prayer during this stressful time. If you need to talk about any aspects of this you can PM me...I'll be glad to talk with you.

It's terrible that such a thing can be so subjective in substance (and yet becomes an objective assessment). I'll keep you in prayer, too.

As I'm typing this they are actually in a meeting right now. Apparently my formation director thinks that some of it is inaccurate and needs to be changed, which is actually a good thing for me. Thank you for the prayers and keep them coming.

hey man, I'm there for ya, it's hard sometimes convincing other people of what you know God has called you to do, (trust me, I'm still working on my father ;)

Tomorrow is my meeting with my vocation director. I think things will go well. I finally got to see my evaluation today. I think it's slightly inaccurate, but I'm willing to meet their recommendations if that's the way they really feel (who knows, maybe I just can't see those things in myself).

Well I met with my vocation director and things went very well. He agreed that it was probably mostly due to a misunderstanding since this is my first year and they don't know me well yet. He did recommend, and I agree, that I should see a counselor about becoming better at expressing my emotions. Thanks to everyone who prayed for me this past week, I want you to know that I return prayer for those who pray for me.

Sorry I found this thread too late to pray for your evaluation, but I'm glad everything turned out ok. I will still pray that God's will is done in your life.
