The challenge is actually an attempt by me, as an admin of the CAA Steam Community, to get our members to compete with each other.Esoteric (post: 1203347) wrote:How does this 'challenge' thing work? Does everyone have to 'own' the same music? Or is your challenge song somehow 'shared'?

So have you decided on being an Eraser player? I never could plan out my combos well in Eraser. So I decided to go the route of the Pusher.Slater (post: 1206085) wrote:Meh, as for the first challenge, I don't know what's going on. The checksums on the two MP3s are identical --]I don't know what to say. Maybe it is the servers.... Who knows at this point? Maybe the developer will come up with a different way to identify music files. ID3 info might not be the best way to go, although it is by far the easiest.
The only thing I noticed is that scoreboards go by the ID3 info. So if it gets changed, chances are the score will go to a different scoreboard.Well, I was originally planning to ramp up the difficulty curve (as best as I can gauge it) gradually. I did not want to "scare" away anyone so quickly. So I tend to look at the track more than anything else in my decisions.Slater wrote:And for the new one, I tried it. As with most OCRs, not my cup of tea.
But like I said several times by now, suggestions are indeed welcome. I would like some musical variety as well. I just want to make the challenges to be easy to try (i.e. just download and play with no worries on anyone's part). If you guys want things to get harder, let me know.
I was thinking about making the next challenge a song from http://www.animeremix.org/ that I thought had a very nice long track to play on. But then they are even more techno focused than the OCRemix guys.
I just discovered this site recently: http://www.jamendo.com/en/ but I have no idea yet how things will play.Slater wrote:On the other side, I just got done with my second run through SoaD's Aerials...

Well, let us know your Audiosurf account name so when you can go online we can track what you are playing.Mr. SmartyPants wrote:Too bad I can't play with all of you guys. =(

Peanut seems to know how to rock the Casual stuff, but where are everybody's Elite "skillz"?

So your school network does not allow the Steam ports to go through? Does their network policy/FAQ say that? Tried requesting allowing Steam? (Doesn't hurt to ask?)Peanut (post: 1210440) wrote:Hehe...I've moved to Pro and I'm working on moving to Elite right now. The sad thing is thanks to our schools network, MSP and I can't connect to the Audiosurf servers so our scores aren't sent in...or at least we can't see them...
