Favorite TV shows as a kid?

Postby Angel Tifa » Sat Feb 16, 2008 12:56 am

What were some of your faovorite TV shows as a kid and still remember today?

Mine are:

1.Just about anything from the Disney Afternoon-I'll never forget Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, Duck Tales, and Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers. I loved that stuff when I was a kid and those were hits when I was in kindergarden and first grade.

2.Tiny Toon Adventures
3.Animaniacs
4.Power Rangers (the old and first ones of course)
5.Sailor Moon (still love it)
6.ReBoot (my favorite computer animated cartoon)
7.Mighty Max
8.Dinosaurs
9.Step by Step
10.Sister Sister
11.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the 80s version is the one I shared my childhood with)
12.Sonic the Hedgehog
13.Super Mario Bros. 3 (I loved the cartoon)
14.Alvin and the Chipmunks
15.Ren & Stimpy (guilty pleasure XD)
16.Are you Afraid of the Dark?

Classic Disney and Looney Toons. Chilling with Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny.

Then the Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Darkwing Duck, Tail Spin, the Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, and Pokemon. Back when everyone was into Pokemon.

I was heavily into You Can't Do That on Television as a kid. I also loved Thundercats, Voltron, and anything Disney.

Oh wow, let's see.

I grew up on a lot of Looney Toons, Tom and Jerry, Sonic the Hedgehog, Spiderman, Batman, and Zorro. I also remember watching Archie when I was really little, around 4 or so. XD

I didn't have the Disney Channel until I was around 13 or so, so I missed out on a lot of the old Disney cartoons. XD In its place, I had Doug, Shelby Woo, and...a lot of other shows I'm forgetting. XD Also, my brother and I always made a point to watch Pokemon, Batman Beyond, and Dragon Ball Z every afternoon. XD

And my mind is either blanking on the rest, or that really is all I used to watch. XD

EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. XD Probably several others, too. XD;

Oh man, I forgot ALL of those. XD I loved Ghostwriter, and for the longest time, I couldn't remember the title of the Alex Mac show. XD And yes, I do vaguely remember Stick Stickly. What he looked like, at least. XD I don't recall much else aside from that. XD

And my gosh. The Cosby Show. Which I still watch when I have the chance. XD I'm pretty sure I've seen every single episode. I love that show. XD

Doug and Arthur. For want of a .gif of either inflicting violence, I am unable to make amends for my grievous offense.

Though let me just say that Aladdin is the only Disney film to have worthwhile spin-offs and sequels.

Lol it sounds like you guys all share simlilar tastes to mine ^^. Also does anyone remember Bucky O'Hare? I can't say it wasn't one of my favorites when I was little, but it's starting to grow on me more in this day and age. I also remember a commercial for when the action figures were out. Here's the intro theme song for the show.

X-Men. Hands down, the best cartoon show of its time. Why it hasn't yet been released on DVD is beyond me. Also, if I got up early enough on Saturday mornings I could catch some old Ultra-7 episodes.

just found this on youtube. There's 8 parts. So, remember all the cartoons of old, and maybe not so old? And maybe find out about cartoons you never knew existed (part 4 Captain N: The Game Master. o_o;;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxfaNswcyEs&feature=related
Part one

Edit: After watching part 6(?) I was hit with such nostalgia (sp?). MIYA THE BEE!! ;-; I think my parents still have the episodes on tape. I watched that show so much.

Haha... I had to look up step by step cause I knew it sounded familiar and the song popped into my head but I couldn't remember anything about it all till I looked up on youtube. Anyway, I loved the shots of Magic Mountain in the intro... lol, looks nothing like that now really.

My list:

Spiderman
Batman: Animated Series
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Mighty Max (had a lot of the mighty max toys too)
Inspector Gadget
The Snorks
Fraggle Rock
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
Transformers
Smurfs
Tiny Toons
Land of the Lost
Goosebumps

Can't think of any others at the moment. Was never allowed to watch the X-Men series and never figured out why till much older but I did manage to sneak in an episode or two and my brothers ratted me out and got in trouble. I found out way later my mom didn't like the way the women were drawn and their outfits, lol. (ya I know its a goofy reason but she was always overly sensitive when it came to these issues)

I wasn't allowed to watch X-Men because of Xavier's telepathy. "Psychic is BAD!!!"

These were the shows I used to watch when I was VERY little (4 or so):
Casper the Friendly Ghost
Scooby-Doo
Sesame Street
The Flintstones
The Jetsons
Tom & Jerry

These were the shows I used to watch when I was a bit older (6-9 or so):
A Pup Named Scooby-Doo
Batman Beyond
Bill Nye the Science Guy
Krat's Kreatures (sp?)
Magic School Bus
Pokemon (I was a HUGE fan)
Reading Rainbow
Where in _____ is Carmen San Diego? (I believe they had different shows for "the World" and "Time"?)

Yeah I remember at 6pm every afternoon (mostly during summer vacation) back in sixth grade I would always watch Step by Step when it was channel 5. I'll never forget it.

I also had two of the Mighty Max toys when I was a kid :D. I had the spider one and the skull one .

Sometimes at work a patient will be watching some channel that has a bunch of those early '90s sitcoms. Step by Step, Perfect Strangers, Full House, Family Matters . . . stuff I hadn't seen in ages. Ah, nostalgia.

I remember quite a few of the shows everyone's mentioned. Many an afternoon was wasted watching Nick in the Afternoon with Stick Stickly. I even remember that little mail jingle. "Write to me, Stick Stickly, PO box nine-six-three, New York City, New York State, one-oh-one-oh-eight!"

...Yeah. I wish I could make money at this kind of thing.

We only got our first TV when I was about 6 and since English isn't my first language the shows I watched was in my home language and none of you would know any of them. (They were probably translated though) I have seen and remember most of the shows mentioned here though, some of them quite recently (I do still*cough cough* sometimes watch cartoons, I mean come on...they do rock.) I think Spiderman would be one of my all time favourites. Childhood show discussions always make me super nostalgic.

Aw maaaaaan =D I loved 90s cartoons. You know, I hate it when older people scoff at the present and say "Back in MY day..." but 90s American cartoons really were cooler than what we have today... with some major exceptions, of course. (I think Foster's makes up for about half the crap on CN today.)

Animaniacs <--I was IN LOVE WITH THIS SHOW
Power Rangers
Doug
Powerpuff Girls
Dexter's Lab
Pokemon, Sailor Moon
