i'd say inuyasha===it used to be great back then but then that annoying villian whose name i cannot recall but he wore a wierd ape suit, just wouldn't die. I havn't watched it in forever and if it is still running hopefully that pesty villian was succesful dispatched, and peace isestored again on feudal japan. They just need to change the plot and stuff, it became way too predictable in like every episode. And yeah i get pretty tired of hearing "shikon jewlels' over and over again.

I thought that the parody show Assemble: INSERT would be good, but it was rather disappointing, especially for Masami Yuuki.

And the Bobobo anime's ending. It was just terrible.

*grins* I've never seen the full thing, but doesn't the villain sound like Ah-nold in the dub?

What ending? They literally ran out of episodes.

You would actually be concerned about the ending to Bobobo, of all shows? (Actually, I could go for a good nose hair battle right about now... I need to find subs ><;)

They really didn't run out of episodes. A parent group in Japan tried to have the manga stop. They failed to do so, but due to outrage from the parent group cause a backlash on the anime. Companies that were putting money in the anime or money in ad time, when the show aired in Japan started to pull away and it cause show to just end.

People think that the anime was for adults and this was not true. The anime was tame to what the manga was.

Actually, I think that was what rocklobster meant-- it was getting pulled, so they ran out of episodes to advance the plot enough to come out and have a clean, suitable ending.

Bobobo is definitely for kids, but it's all trash. It's very nice trash though, in the same spirit of a cheap grease-infused bacon-triple-cheeseburger with jumbo fries. =D

How could they have a clean suitable ending, when they were in the middle of a story arch.

Love the analogy! I was amused by Bobobo, and I even stuck around for a few episodes! I agree, it's not the best thing out there, put heaven knows it ain't the worst. (And yes, I said ain't!)

Submitted for your disapproval, I have to say Fruits Baskets dissapointed me towards the end. I know last year I kinda raved on it but after finally seeing the last episode, I have to say this one really didn't live up to it's potential. (I know that the manga is still going on, but this is based on the anime.)

I actually haven't seen the full 26th episode, but in general, compared to the manga, it was somewhat disappointing. Too many changes.

Dens Bowy:shady:
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

The TV series (Stand Alone Complex) is definitely not for everyone. Ultimately, it's a drama, not the action series it looks like it ought to be. And, as a drama, it works very well for people who like drama.

Try the original Ghost in the Shell movie (Koukaku Kidoutai). I'm sending you clear back to 1995, but to something that was very advanced for that time. It's much better suited for action fans, although you may be able to see why the folks who developed the TV series focused on the drama and not the action.

The original manga (which is ancient history; this franchise dates clear back to the 1980s) was both, as all action manga tend to be.

Boogiepop Phantom. Confusing as anything, slow, ponderous, boring, depressing, non-interesting characters, dreary animation.

A toss up between Spring and Chaos which failed all around but looked so good from the trailer, and Spiral which was one of my favs but undeniably had the most let down of an ending (or lack thereof) in anime history.

A friend of mine summed up the entire series quite simply: "All they do is run around and fight demons, and fight demons, and fight demons, and fight demons . . ."

For me, the most disappointing anime I'd seen was Jing: King of Bandits. There was no underlying plot whatsoever, and no reason to get behind the main character. It was just some thief who for some unexplained reason had a talking bird that could attach itself to his arm and be used as a beam cannon.

Which one didn't you like?

Record of Lodoss War OVA or Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight tv series?

Funny thing with me is, I like the tv series, but dislike the OVA. Most anime fans like the OVA and dislike tv series.

Does prince of tennis stay drivel? I watched the first 15 eps and I can't figure out why they made nearly 200 episodes of this.

I also dislike naruto, but only the way the story is told in the animation. The manga's cool. I just can't take the challenge, suspense, suspense, hesitation, hope, hope destroyed, shift of power format the anime conforms too.

True disappointment? The Interlude OVA. I watched the fansub and loved it, but when I bought the legit dvd (from rightstuf, so it wasn't a bootleg)... TERRIBLE! like a paragraph of subtitles mashed 3 quarters of the way up the screen, then they disappear for like 5 line of dialogue, wth? And of course I'm a bit of a purist so I already know I hate the dub. It's released by geneon, but there's a toei label on the side, what's with that?

Bubble Gum Crisis, the newer series (Tokyo 2040 or whatever)... not that I was expecting much anyway, it was just the only series I started and didn't care to see the rest. Guess thats what I get judging an anime from the opening sequence.

At first I couldn't think of any examples, but they came to my mind soon enough as I read through the posts.

Martian Successor Nadesico was somewhat disappointing. I saw the movie a couple of years ago and really liked it and the series just didn't have the same intensity for me. Maybe I expected too much.

I'm not really sure how I feel about .hack//Sign. The beginning was okay, the middle was boring but I felt it picked up towards the end. What also ruined it was the fact that the dub I watched (on TV) showed Japanese writing for the dialogue of the characters when outside the game but with no English translation so I completely missed those bits. This was a significant problem at the end, which happens outside the game, but you don't have a clue what anyone's saying. I think if I see it again, with those parts in English, I'd enjoy it more.

I didn't like .hack//Legend of the Twilight - "Rena!"... "Shugo!"... "Rena!"... "Shugo!"... "Rena!"... "Shugo!"... "Rena!"... "Shugo!" Really... it gets a bit much after a while. It also seemed to be aimed at a younger audience.

Cannon Fodder from the movie Memories was a bit pointless.

Earth Girl Arjuna -I didn't watch the whole thing. Some of it I didn't understand and got irritated at Chris who gets annoyed with Juna when she can't get anything right, but he won't tell her what she is supposed to do either. If I was her I would have freaked out/slapped at him. Also it’s like a "technology = bad/nature = good/tree hugger" lecture every episode.

Sorry if anyone liked any of these series, this is just my perception of them.
I don't know what broke to make you like this, but I must be broken too if I'm standing here praising your destructiveness. -Rock (Black Lagoon)

I agree. After reading several volumes of the manga (still working on it), I must say I really don't like how the anime just abruptly ends --it still leaves something to be desired.

The new Tsubasa reservoir chronicles OVA... There was so much killing and gory things in the first 2 episodes! I was disappointed. I had nightmares because of it too. >.< CLAMP ruined the continuation of the series I think. Of course there was violence it the first season but it got really bad in the newest one.
