Yeah, I think they are marketing it that way, unless pics really do get leaked out. A good plan to make money off people who have such a curious nature about this creature.

I'm actually glad they're marketing it this way. 'Cause it honestly makes me want to go see it just so I can see the monster...

...and that exploding woman.

I saw the movie "After" which, for stylistic reasons, was shot almost entirely from cameras on each of the actors' heads. It was incredibly high contrast and incredibly shaky and... really difficult to watch... I understand why they're doing it (and, boy, will this test the abilities of their compositing team) but that doesn't make it any easier to watch. It's Blair witch all over again.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

You're coming off a bit rude there, bud. Try to be a bit more understanding for others.

It's bad camera work to those who get motion sickness easily. My mom gets it, so I understand why so many are bothered by it. It's totally understandable.

I agree though that it's not for everyone. I'd call it more "one-sided" camera work if anything.

It has been confirmed that the entire monster(s?) will be seen in the movie.

I seen some footage of the monster's knee, but then again, it can be just a building collapsing.
From the view you get, it looks like a T-Rex.
But, I think its a cthulu of some sort.
Anyway, take a look..

Footage?

There are knees and part of the extremely large torso though no one can determine what the monster is exactly just by that.

To quote, J. J. Abrams conceived of a new monster after he and his son visited a toy store in Japan. He explained, "We saw all these Godzilla toys, and I thought, we need our own monster, and not King Kong, King Kong's adorable. I wanted something that was just insane and intense."

So we know it's something totally made up and possibly based on Godzilla. I seriously doubt it's like cthulu but I can't honestly say. All we know is that it has claws, dinosaur-legs, and is as large as a skyscraper.

(Also, that link has some derogatory comments near the bottom. Everyone is warned."

Cthulu... so THAT was what a Digimon called Dagomon/Dracomon was based on. I remember hearing a bit of lore on it, but I don't even know what culture the mythology comes from.

Somehow I doubt it's that.

Cthulhu was a fictional giant being created by author H. P. Lovecraft. So the monster could be somewhat of a Cthulhu.

Here is a picture of Cthulhu from H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.

No no sorry I am actually not trying to sound rude. I completly understand the motion sickness part i know alot of people who are like that. You took that way more serious than i meant it i meant it fully as a joke. I personallylike the way its filmed and i understand it's not for everyone. Don't take it as anymore than a joke.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!

I found this post on 1-18-08News.com's forum.. Its allegedly from a guy who has seen the private screening.
Now, he describes the monster, and some things that happen during the film.

I never read it, but I only skimmed through the spoiler to read the monster's discretion.. It sounds INSANE!
So, open at you're own risk.. So, don't get mad at me if it spoils it for you.. It's you're fault for reading it in the first place..
So, heres the link..

Does unsubstantiated speculation count as a spoiler?

Possible spoiler below:

I ran into a rumor on-line that the movie is based on Gorgo, a British attempt at making a Godzilla movie that was exactly like it's predecessors in that it was absolutely terrible, cheesy to the extreme, and life threateningly funny without meaning to be. The movie got riffed on MST3k, which is where I saw it.

If it is based on Gorgo, I hope they fix the would-be plot and apply recent advancements in technology, particularly special effects. One guy in a monster costume smashing a six foot cardboard replica of a national icon is enough.

I read another rumor in the paper about what the monster was supposed to be,though the rumor seems to be a bit too wild to be true.

Doubleshadow, no it's not Gorgo. J.J. Abrams said it was an original monster. Still I can't help thinking it looks a bit like 'The Host' (a great Korean movie).

I like that idea, but it bugs me some that American screenwriters can't cough up original ideas anymore, or when they do, watch them be utterly mishandled or under-appreciated.

Often that is a problem, yes, but what's wrong with monster movies if you enjoy the genre (and they're done well)?

I think the concept of the movie is fantastic, and fairly original. Watching a Giant Monster Movie from the point of view of the folks in the city could be really interesting. 2-3 hours of shaly-cam will ruin it for me, though. I hope the movie does some "traditional" camera work to balance a bit.

Whoa! I didn't mean that! I meant the part about basing it on the Korean movie. I love monster movies and there aren't enough good ones.

According to a cellphone video I seen of a clip this is what it looks like:
Multiple arms and legs. About 500 m high, 10000 m long. It's tail is similar to the tail of the monster in "The Host", it's head has a look feel to it. It's cheeks puff out similaro to those ugly lizards. and It is simply HUGE.
