If you don't know what some of those mean, it might be likely that you don't want to know, and don't look them up (particularly the last 2). I'm not responsible for the results of such ill-advised searching.

If there's a particular yaoi or yuri pairing that is genuinely plausible given the canon, or in fact is canon, I don't really fault people for writing that pairing as such in a fanfic. For whatever reason, though, I find that yaoi and yuri fans have an almost bizarre need to take a straight character and make him gay or lesbian even when there really are plenty of gay and lesbian anime characters to make plausible yaoi or yuri fanfics out of. It's quite puzzling to me...

I basically consider Wikipedia safe to browse. Unless you're very young or very sheltered, none of its content will be shocking. That means some of these topics have no pictures at all...

You could very well be a better judge of this. By this point I may be jaded enough that I'm out of touch with what would be offensive. We could post links and compare more objectively, but I assume we'll agree it's not worth the time.minakichan wrote:Yeah, Death Note is totally turning into it as well. Fish and Chips (post: 1191654) wrote:Sorry, but this is an attitude I'm not fond of.
If you truly enjoy an underground title, ideally, your goal as a fan would be to see it eventually recognized in the popular mainstream. Whenever I discover some obscure Manga or underrated Anime, I try to think who I can share it with. Liking or disliking a series simply because it is popular or unpopular is fairly shallow. If you like it, that's what's important.
And if the fandom fails, ignore them. It's not terribly difficult.
Fish and Chips (post: 1191666) wrote:Again, I apologize, but your post comes off like a couple of people I could think of. There's a fair number of elitists who pride themselves on their underground tastes, and prefer it that way. "Mmm, nice and obscure for no weeaboos to touch."
It's a subject that's been on my mind recently.
