Voices of a Distant Star

Postby Mangafanatic » Tue Mar 16, 2004 2:24 pm

HOWDY! :jump:
I saw this title, Voices of a Distant Planet, on a random web site, I pulled up a summar and it looked really cool. The site listed a 13+ rating. Ratings that aren't MPAA confuse me. I take that back-- All ratings confuse me, but anime ratings in particular. My main problem is that I don't particularly mind language or some "tasteful" (Lord of the Rings style, non-explicite) violence. What I do mind is the gross sexuality which is so commonly in anime. :?: Can anyone give me an idea of what objectional content is in this anime. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks a million!

Hey there! No worries for Voices of a Distant Star. There's one swear in the dub and a couple brief scenes of blood. It's more like PG material. We actually have a review up for this in the review database.

Ok, here's the link to our database:

http://www.christiananime.net/forums/reviews.php

There's also a button for it at the top of the forum screen. Be sure to check it out a lot - we get new reviews in just about every day.

And here's a direct link to the Voices of a Distant Star review:

Hope this helps!

Hey,
That helped alot, thanks. The only problem I have now is that I'll probably have to go out and buy it because blockbuster only stocks manga porn. (Okay I exaggerate. They have, um,--------Kiki's Delivery service, too. If that even counts. :eh: )
I guess on the good side, every review I've read was a blissfully happy with this title. Oh, the things I suffer for the love of anime.

Kikis counts! It's a Hayao Miyazaki film! I heard a lot about this series too, and all of it seemed positive.

Voices is great... I almost passed it up since it's a fairly short film, but it's worth the cost (be sure to watch the subtitled version, it's much better that way IMNSHO).

BTW, Kiki is a great movie, even if it's main character is a "witch," it's charming and clever... and the artwork is fantastic.

Actually, I first saw VDS at Blockbuster, but it's worth it to buy it.

My blockbuster doesn't have it! Nasty-rental nazi's! J/k. I guess I'll just cough-up the dough. Thanks for the help!

Best Buy had it for $13 (which is where I just picked it up ... still haven't had the time to watch it yet though, sigh).

I got it for $15 at Best Buy several months ago, and I've watched it more often than any other anime I own. It is amazing what the man did in 25 minutes' time. I can't get enough of this one. Everyone must see it.

VDS isn't miazaki, Kiki's delivery service is.
