Ooh, Prince Caspian looks really cool and cinematic. The children look sufficiently older, but not so much older that you can't believe only a year passed since the first movie. The water god, especially, looked cool. I just hope Liam Neeson can pick up his acting in this one, and that Prince Caspian doesn't have some weird accent...I couldn't tell from his one line :eyebrow:

It looks fantastic. Can't wait. Can't really think of any movie I really wanna see aside from this one. I'm seriously burnt out on movies at the moment. There has been nothing of late that has made me really go, wow that was so fricken awesome. But anyway... I love the narnia books and I can't wait to see this. It looks much better than the other (I was a bit disappointed with the first one but maybe cause I over anticipated it? Actually watching recently I'm still not impressed with it much) even though Prince Caspian was like my least favorite of the books.

I'm REALLY looking forward Voyage of the Dawn Treader which is my favorite of the books... arg gotta wait till 2010 for that >.<

Huh? What kind? Castellano?

Oh no, after spending so much time in Spain a poorly done Spanish Caspian might just kill me. I'm all anxious now. Why Spanish? That doesn't follow the books at all! He was as British sounding as the rest of them in the novels.

Their website is still running slowly; apparently there is considerable interest in the sequel.

It is probably inevitable that I will end up seeing this, so I hope it is a decent film. My biggest question is how they will handle Lewis' plot, as it isn't conducive to high-tension movie-making. I would guess integrating the two parts, but the trailer seems to indicate it entirely follows the children (which could be a false impression).

Ah, I see. I'm not too familiar with Spanish accents, and it was really hard to tell with him only having one line in the trailer. (Though I did think it sounded like he said, "I am Brince Gaspian." :eh: )

Liam Neeson's acting? What was bad about it in the 1st?

Well, this is probably just me, but I was very disappointed with his portrayal of Aslan. He sounded almost half-hearted sometimes, and maybe Liam Neeson just doesn't have a deep or powerful enough voice to sound like the way I've always imagined a lion to sound. I'm probably just spoiled; I have this incredibly obscure animated version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, where Aslan's voice is just fantastic.
Also, I thought Aslan's roars should have been louder, deeper, longer....

Ah, well. I'll probably never be satisfied.

I agree, Caspian's spanish accent is really, ah, unfortunate. Still, I am witholding judgment until I hear more than one line.

Aside from Caspian, the movie looks awesome! For being based on my least favorite book, the movie looks pretty darn fantastic.

Yes, the_wolf's_howl, maybe that's the case for you but nothing can ever live up to what we build up in our imagination. I thought he did a great job.
And it's a d@mn sight better than the horrible Focus on the Family Aslan (the only low point of that adaptation).

You got that right. At least this new Aslan looks like a real lion :eyeroll:

Why is Caspian in this movie the age he should be in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader?

Why would he have a Spanish accent in the first place? Were Caspian's
pirate/mutineer ancestors Spanish? And if so why would they accent remain?Caspian would be generations removed from them and so would have some sort of Narnian accent.Or is it because Spanish just sounds a heck lot more interesting than say giving him a Midwestern or Southern
accent?

He has to have some kind of accent, so I think Spanish is better than some they could have chosen. It may reflect his ancestors roots (Spain did have a lot of pirates) and they might not have developed a Narnian accent because they remained their own ethnicity. One must wonder how that accent transferred to whatever language everyone in Narnia is speaking, but the choice seems logical to me.

Wow, I never even thought about that. That's a pretty interesting line of inquiry, actually *is reading the second chapter of your "Links," and thinking about pirates a lot*

Speaking of accents, I hope Calormene accents are good and believable and all that. Even though they're basically the "bad race" of the series, Calormenes are my favorite.
