Earbud reccomendations?

Postby Godly Paladin » Mon Nov 26, 2007 4:09 pm

I just broke my cheapo pack-in Zune earbuds (don't start, K?) and I want to buy some better earbuds. Basically I want the best sound quality and most bass I can get for under $50. Any advice?

The absolute best earbuds that I've heard of are Sony's MDR-E888. You might want to consider them as they're just above your upper limit, at $60 USD at Audiocubes. Also at Audiocubes are Sony's slightly cheaper in-ear MDR-EX85, which look to be the successor to the EX51/70/71.

If you want to look for more opinions, I'd suggest looking at Audio T-Station. I used to go there for Minidisc gear reviews and they seem to have a good idea of what high quality stuff is out there.

Thanks, mage. I ended up going with the Sennheiser MX400 for now. Maybe later I'll talk myself into spending 60+. :D

Oh, right, I forgot about the MX400. I'd heard good things about them, but even now, they're way more expensive here than in the States.

Really? Pricegrabber listed a store that sold them for $8 before shipping.
