Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series

Postby K. Ayato » Fri Nov 09, 2007 2:15 am

So, who in here is a big fan of that? If you don't know what it is, basically, it's a guy from England who takes full episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! and squishes them into 4-5 minute minis, using his own voice (except for with a few characters introduced later on) and completely poking fun at the series as a whole.

If you're still curious, you can view the episodes on YouTube (make sure the name littlekurioboh appears in the description) or on yugiohabridgedseries.com, which is the official site for these episodes.

Nyeh! :P

My friend Autumn introduced me to both the Yu-Gi-Oh and Naruto Abridged series. The Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged series has to be my favorite of the two.

"'There are no women in Yu-Gi-Oh, only really girly men! And I am the girliest one of them all!'
'Keep telling yourself that' --Pegasus"

or this one:
"For some reason, playing a card game has caused me to become severely injured." --Grandpa
"Wait, wait. I've been injured, so you're going to steal my deck and play a card game with your arch-rival?" "Yeah, pretty much." "No wonder your parents are never around."

I love this series. I never understood Yu-Gi-Oh at all, so this series is awesome.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Since the creation of the Internet, the Earth's rotation has been fueled, primarily, by the collective spinning of English teachers in their graves."

Not sure. Yami is pretty funny. But so is Kiba--"Screw the rules, I have money."
Joey is well-done too.

Tristan. Definitely. He has the best lines ever.

...Of course, I can't think of any I can say here...

Rex, Weevil, and several other minor characters are great, too.

Bakura and his gaydar cracked me up so badly, especially when they ran into those twin villains. XD

I like how all the cast is done, really, but Yugi and Yami are pretty close to being the best.

Oh yes, Yu-gi-oh Abridged is also a podcast on iTunes, so you can download them all. >3

Curiosity and procrastination overtook me tonight, and so I finally decided to check this out.

It's absolutely one of the funniest parodies I've seen in a while.

The last ep that I saw was Episode 22 and wasn't sure if he was making anymore after that.

Anyway, I'm now up to ep 26.

Ep 16 was one of my fav, untill now. Ep 23 is just funny.

I love this line from ep 23:

Tea: Why didn't you tell him the truth!

Tristan: Because lying is fun!

That is another good one.

Yami: "trust me johnny, you dont want that, she'll sing disney songs and birds will randomly attack you"

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series was the first official abridged series and others like Naruto were just some unfunny knock offs of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series.

Really, some of the most funniest lines in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series are suff that we can't can't post here at CAA.

Actually, I watched both and I thought the Naruto Abridged series was funnier (but, then again, I really didn't get into Yu-Gi-Oh! anyways...), but that's just my opinion.

Probably the best part of that series is how Saske always gets pwned by logs...but yeah. that's all I have to say.....

After numerous people mentioned this, I caved in and watched an episode. It was fairly entertaining, so I am moving through them chronologically now. A few juvenile moments aside, the writing is fairly good and I find it funny overall, which is sufficient to be worth five minutes of my time occasionally.

I finally took a look at these expecting it to be really random and stupid but it was actually quite good and well done! Very funny stuff.

Episode 3 and 18 are my favorites so far but I've only watched a small handful. Guess I should watch em in order though...
