life support/heart trouble

Postby ~darkelfgirl~ » Sat Nov 03, 2007 4:17 pm

I apologize if this is really long.

My friend's grandma is on life support (coma) from a massive heart attack today. I'm really down right now because things don't seem so good.

The thing is, you don't know how much you care about someone until their life is on the line. I was just crying to myself not too long ago, and I'm just begging God to bring her back. I just hope he does, and I don't wanna doubt, but things have been "no" lately.

Right now she needs a miracle because things are bad. I mean, she encourages me so much and I never really took it seriously (because I'm always doubting my potential). Not to be corny, I feel like I have this ability to tell that something grim is going to happen. This morning, ironically, I was writing a story about a girl in a coma and this sad song kept ringing in my head. This happens every time something sad is about to happen (like on the day of 9/11 this one sad song kept haunting me before the event). I just don't know. And every time death is about to happen, I always see a whole bunch of ants (today they were in the kitchen). I'm trying not to be weird and stuff, but this is what happens to me. That's why I'm worried about the plane crash/tornado dreams.

Please, please pray for a miracle and for her and my friend (who's holding in his emotions) and the rest of the family.

Also, my mom's having heart problems--they found a leak in one of her arteries or something. She's always stressing herself over the most petty things and she's got so much to do.

Please pray for her also.

Please pray for me, too, because it feels as if my life is slowly falling apart. Everything's just confusing.

Praying that God will heal your friend's grandma, that your mom's heart problems go away soon, and that He will give you comfort and strength through it all. Reading too much into persceptions isn't always good, because the coincidences like sad music ect. are also jumbled up with your emotions so its hard to tell which is reacting to which. And also Satan can use little things to get us into a negative mindset, and from there it just kinda snowballs until you're subconciously creating things you think are bad omens, like having a certain song stuck in your head.

Anyway, hope everything works out and you know you can always PM me if you need someone to talk to.

Praying also.
Footprints in the sand by Carolyn Joyce Carty

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the lord.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of foot prints in the sand: one belonging to him the other to the lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the foot prints in the sand.

He noticed that name times along the path of his life there was only one set o footprints.

He also noticed that it was at the lowest and saddest times of his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the lord about it:

"lord, you said once i decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But i have noticed during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of foot prints. I dont understand why when i needed you most you would leave me."

The lord replied:

"My son, my precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that i carried you."

Will be praying.....

...as for the whole forsight thing, sounds like you've got an interesting gift there. I don't know how you see it, but it looks like you've been given this gift for a reason. Maybe God has given you these brief glimpses so that you can do something either before or when they happen.

As scary as these things may seem, do not fear......For the One who created the universe and everything (and everyone) in it is standing by your side......

Again I will contiue to pray for u and ur family.....

I will say a prayer for her, but God will provide for her no matter what happens. Plus, your friend's grandmother is one step closer to going home. I think it is we who should be envious of her.

Well said there. I will be praying too! Feel free to PM me if you want to talk.

You say things have been "no" lately, but try and remember God works things out for us in time, for His purpose and our own good. We live in a world that likes instant gratification... it isn't always a no right away, it could be not right now... depending on what you are asking and so forth, but trust plays a big role in it all. I used to think every single thing I asked was a no... about my Grandma when she passed away... friends moving on in life and forgetting about me... my "dreams"... my purpose in life... etc etc... but I was able to see things different in time, once I really trusted in Him. I have been at a stand still in my life... work, pay bills, sleep... repeat... and I got frustrated and was upset that things were not moving forward fast enough for me, but now I am starting to see doors opening up slowly, and I know I just need more patience... it's hard, but I know God's plans are not always gonna be understood by man.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Thanks guys.

The only thing linking her to this world is the life-support machine (she's in a vegetative state). Mostly everyone is accepting the fact that she's literally gone.

Once again, my life lessons are patience and acceptance. It's just so hard to believe that someone was ok not too long ago and then they're gone. Then you find yourself trying to make a bargain with God. I'm just like this because I haven't really lost anyone this emotionally close to me ever.

The "gift" is very vague--maybe it's just mere coincidence. The thing is, I just know that something negative is going to happen, not what it is exactly. My dad has it too. Yeh, I try not to read into it, but the very feeling gets to you.

Solid, you know, you're right. She's leaving this hate, perverse, and worry-ridden world, and she'll be reunited with her husband. No more arthritis, hehe.

You're right, HWC. I mean, I guess I've been focusing on the nos instead of the yesses. I don't even know if the nos are in fact nos. They may be hold-ons?

They very well could be hold-ons, it isn't always as it seems. I know that for sure. :) It's very easy to to focus on the "nos" and if that is what you are doing, it will indeed play a part in making you feel like things are hopeless. God is in control, and His plans will go forward... if you cling to Him with a heart of trust, once you reach that area in life where you just know you are living out what you are meant to do, then you will truly be happy. Doubt is such a destroyer of the mind, don't let it consume you, because it's a bottomless pit once you fall into it. I barely escaped once I was inside the web of confusion years back, and it is only because of God that I had my chains broken.

I'm praying! You take care. :)

If anything, I would recommend reading "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Dan Piper. My wife read this book and she said she couldn't put it down. That it was the most beautiful description of heaven ever. Tell your friend to read it too. It's about a man who was involved in an accident and dies clinically for 90 mins. True story, told by him and how the prayers of a pastor bought him back after seeing heaven with his own eyes.

Sounds terrible, Degu. :( I can't really imagine how hard it is to see someone close to you in a state like that, but I know that if we could see the other side and know what it's like to leave this world and go to the best paradise anyone could come up with, things would be different. But we do at least have the reassurance of scripture that tells us what heaven is like and promises us all eternal life and happiness free from pain and suffering.

If it's God's time to take her, then you know He's waiting for her in heaven and you'll see her again someday. But don't give up hope either just because things seem impossible and people are saying she can't make it. Sometimes things change when you least expect them to.

Song for the moment

Postby SolidÃ…rmor » Sun Nov 04, 2007 9:30 pm

Artist: Mercy Me
Song: In You
Album: Almost There

I put my hope in You
I lay my life in palm of your hand
For I'm constantly drawn to You oh Lord
In ways I cannot comprehend

It's the Creator calling the created
The Maker beckoning the made
The bride finding what she's always waited for
When we find ourselves that day

In You where the hungry feast at the table
The blind frozen by colors in view
The lame will dance, They'll dance for they are able
And the weary find rest
Oh the weary find rest in You

It's no secret that we don't belong here
Those set apart by the grace of You
And we look for the day when we go to a place
Where the old becomes brand new

In You where the hungry feast at the table
The blind frozen by colors in view
The lame will dance, They'll dance for they are able
And the weary find rest
Oh the weary find rest in You

In You where the hungry feast at the table
The blind frozen by colors in view
The lame will dance, They'll dance for they are able
And the weary find rest
Oh the weary find rest in You

We"ll find hope
Oh we will find rest

You are our refuge
You are our sanctuary
We come before You Lord!!
Bless me indeed
Open wide my horizons to share your name
Bless me indeed
Let your hand keep me
from harm and pain
Bless me

Well, she passed away this morning. I'm sad because she's gone, but I'm happy because she's in a better place, and she's reunited with her husband.

My friend is Ok (well as far as I can tell on the outside). He's been playing games with friends. I went over to his house to see how he was doing and to hang out. It was really weird without her there, because she's always the first one to greet us when we enter their house. I think her message is still on our voice mail--hopefully we didn't delete it. Change is hard, and Sundays are going to feel weird without her weekly encouragement. I know I'm going to forget that she's gone and totally slip and ask where she is.

About what you said, HWC, that makes me think of that trust game where you fall back and let the person behind you catch you. There's always the side that doubts that they're not going to pay attention to you falling and stuff, but then you know they will.

I've heard about situations like in that book by Dan Piper. Sometimes I doubt that (you know, because it's hard to believe) but then you believe it.

Thanks for the song, Solid.

Take comfort in the fact that she is no longer in pain --her body is whole again and she is with Jesus.

I remember when my grandma died (she lived w/ Mom and me), that afterwards I kept going to her room for a while expecting her to be there. It took a while for reality to sink in.

Hang in there, friend. She is no longer suffering and is in paradise. I pray your family grows closer to God during this time...

Thanks 12praiseGOD. That's my favorite verse (well, besides Psalms 3). I try to.
You know (not to sound corny or sentimental), I believe each person has a certain Biblical verse that's just for them, like a special emblem or something.

Sorry to hear that she passed away. :( It's hard, even though you know she's in a better place. Just remember that it's okay to feel pain/sadness for her, and that it will go away with time. Just a random suggestion, but sometimes it helps to write a poem or a draw something for her to vent your emotions. Anyway, praying for you and your friend.
