Prayer for peaceful resolution in Myanmar

Postby Mave » Fri Sep 28, 2007 7:29 pm

For those who don't know what's going on in Burma/Myanmar, the government has been/is currently ruled by the military group called junta. The pro-democracy/opposition group has been held down by force for more than a decade.

Early this week, Buddhist monks + civilians started peaceful demonstrations but things have gotten ugly since Thursday where some people have already been killed. I'm sure many more have been beaten up and are greatly in pain although it's difficult to verify the figures due to the cover-up (e.g. Internet cut off, journalist barrier). I'm deeply troubled that my fellow South East Asians are suffering in this way.

Nothing political here in this prayer request, pls just pray that I hope international powers persuade the junta forces to hold back on using violence and to have a kinder heart towards their own fellow citizens. May God allow a peaceful resolution.

I was not aware of that situation. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. I shall certainly pray.

[i]Two vast and trunk-less legs of stone stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare the lone and level sands stretch far away. On the pedestal these words are inscribed:

“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!â€
