Tell us about your computer.

Postby Jingo Jaden » Fri Sep 28, 2007 3:32 pm

Alright, I am guessing most of you who read this have access or already own a computer if not multiple, so why don't you tell us about them?

I am currently running a custom pc with XP pro as the OS. I am hopeing to upgrade to windows Vista ulimate.

If I remember correctly the CPU on my pc is a intel duo 2,4 Ghz. So it has some decent speed.

Memory wise I have 4 gb of fairly decent DDR2 ram. *667mhz I think* And when storage comes into question I have 1 TB *2x500* and a 500 GB hardrive.

In terms of graphics I have a 8800 GTS *Which is about 256mb If I am not mistaken.* The motherboard I have allows me to have two graphic cards, but for now one is alright for me.

I also have an older computer which I think I will be giveing away to my sister. It was strong at its time and a real bargain, but outdated thinking about today's standard. I also use a computer at school which is used for 3d modelling and rendering, so it is fairly powerful.

Currently my screen is an ACER X222W and I also have an Syncmaster 730BF.

Aside from the computer itself I have a scanner/printer which I am hopeing to replace in the future. I got a THX sound system. *Logitech Z-5500.* Expensive, but pretty darn strong.

And mentionable software includes Photoshop CS2 and Autodesk 3d studio max 9.

So if you are running a Linux, Mac or Pc. *or anything else for that matter* Why don't you post here and tell us about it?

I just acquired an HP Compaq Presario c500. It came with an Intel Celeron M chip, a gig of ram, 80GB HDD, and Windows Vista.

Being me, the third time I turned it on was to install Gentoo Linux. I'm still setting up all the programs I want/think I'll need.

Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Inspiron|E1705 (Discontinued- last model that came with XP I think.)

Mouse: Logitech G5

Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2250 @ 1.73GHz (2 CPUs)

Memory: 1014MB RAM

Hard Drive: 72 GB

Video Card: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family (8 megs of video ram...)

Monitor:
Plug and Play Monitor

Sound Card: SigmaTel Audio

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp.051011-1528)

So, If I turn the game graphics down real low, I can kinda play newer games. But hey, I have 1440x900 display and two CPUs :D

Also, 6 USB ports, memory card reader, and fire wire port.

I built my PC when I was a junior in Highschool... About eight years ago. I've been slowly upgrading it since then. Last spring I made the grievous mistake of putting Vista on it. At least I still have my MacBook which I use for all my internetting and schoolwork.
