What Studio Makes Up The Most Of Your Collection?

Postby KhakiBlueSocks » Fri Sep 28, 2007 1:39 am

Okay guys! Another question from your resident sock-lover!

What production company (A.D.Video, Pioneer [Geneon], Bandai, etc...) do you have the most of in your anime collection?

Edit: I ment to add a poll, but I goofed somewhere down the line! Gomen! :forehead:

Well, seeing as I just ordered Gunslinger Girl 1-3, it's a tie between ADV and Funimation..

ADV = Noir 1-7
Funimation= Samurai 7 Volumes 1-3, Fruits Basket V. 2, and GG 1-3.

I'm broke, what can I say? =P

It is equally divided between Geneon,ADV and VIZ.I guess since Geneon and ADV made their deal then ADV would be in the lead.

Well, not any more it wouldn't

Before I try to answer, I have a question: do American distributors really count as the production company of an anime (I ask because the answers so far seem to be mentioning American and Japanese companies interchangeably)

Adv is still in the lead for my collection, but I have been growing numbers of others such as funimation, viz, and manga

Wait, studio? As in, the company that actually animates the series (Bones, Ghibli, I.G., etc.)? This looks more like distribution companies, though, so let me see:

ADV: 2 Thinpaks, 1 single DVD
Media Blasters: 1 8-DVD boxed set, 2 single DVDs
Bandai: 1 6-DVD thinpack set, 2 single DVDs
Viz: 3 single DVDs
Disney: 2 movies (Ghibli stuff)

So I guess if we're going by number of items, it's pretty much a tie between ADV, Media Blasters, Bandai, and Viz. XD Going by number of DVDs themselves, Media Blasters.
