needing advice, and prayer

Postby chelle0227 » Sun Sep 16, 2007 11:58 am

Lately I've been noticing alot of my friends are drifting away from me or I am drifting away from them. I feel confused and lost, because the one friend that new me the best, has lost connection with me, and I don't know what to do any more. I've even noticed that my relationship with the lord has been stressed, though I have many friends that are trying to help me, sometimes it isn't enough. Some times I need that one friend. Please some advice and prayer would be very helpful.:?:
Footprints in the sand by Carolyn Joyce Carty

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the lord.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of foot prints in the sand: one belonging to him the other to the lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the foot prints in the sand.

He noticed that name times along the path of his life there was only one set o footprints.

He also noticed that it was at the lowest and saddest times of his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the lord about it:

"lord, you said once i decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But i have noticed during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of foot prints. I dont understand why when i needed you most you would leave me."

The lord replied:

"My son, my precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that i carried you."

Praying....as for advice, I'm not really sure what God is doing in your life or what the situation is between your friends and yourself. Maybe God's trying to tell you something right now...Sometimes things like this happen when He wants to get our attention...I know, becuase He's done that to me alot recently...Doesn't mean you've done anything bad, but maybe there's something that He to tell you through this event...My advice would be to listen to whatever He is telling you...Hope this helps...

Praying...

All I know is that I know what it's like to be in this situation, I'm drifting from my mom's church's youth group and some of my old elmentary school friends that I've known for eight years, seven years....
My relationship with Him, too, has been stressed, and I actually lost it at church this morning...all I can say, really, is that you aren't alone.
If you want to talk, feel free to PM me, k?

Right, now I feel slightly out of the lope on so many things, I feel like the world is moving ahead and I am standing in one spot. I feel alone more then ever. I'm so confused.

I've felt like that myself, and it's a scary place to be. I can't pretend to know the specifics of your situation, but I know what helps me in mine: pray to the Lord for the faith to just trust Him no matter what's going on. There's some kind of change in the works, change is often frightening and painful. Maybe God is trying to lead you someplace new. Maybe He's trying to show you something in your life that needs changing before those relationships can be restored. Maybe you're just growing up? No matter what's actually going on, none of us can get through it without trusting the Lord to lead us, and He's the one who supplies that faith and trust to whoever asks for it.

I think that something important to keep in mind is that we all go through lows in our relationship with God - just as you would with your parents or anyone else you love and believe in. It is these times when your faith is most stressed that you grow in strength and begin to define who you are in God. Most importantly, no matter how hard things seem right now you should know that this is only temporary. God will work it out in his own time.

As for your friends drifting apart, that happens to a lot of us as we grow up. It doesn't always mean your not friends anymore, and you can always pick up contact again later.

Hang in there, girl. I'll be praying for you.

It could be your friend is also having a very hard time right now. Relationships are very hard, but worth the effort. I am a master at making relationships seem distant, believe me. If you haven't spoke to your firend in a while - make a point of it - take the time to track her down and talk to her.

Drifting away can be OK, too. Everytone changes and sometimes those chages mean we drift apart, but you won't know if you simply let it happen. In order to get our needs met, we need to meet the needs of the others around us first.

Good luck, and I will pray for you.

God has become very distant in my life right now, I have stopped going to church, and even chorus group, I even considered getting Away from CAA, but I guess that isn't the answer well I need to reconnect with god, but I can't. I don't know what to do any more.

Well it sounds like you are distancing yourself from God, and not the reverse, by staying away from things that helped you connect to Him in the past. I recommend you go back church, youth, bible reading, etc., even if you don't "feel" closer to God just yet. He might have some plan, after all, that requires you to be there to be able to start off something, or meet someone, or whatever.

In any event, it is at these "low" times that the strength of faith needs to kick in. Keep praying, fellowshipping, and reading the bible, even if it hurts.

Remember Faith is not a feeling...The hard truth is, we're not always going to feel close to God...yet, He's still there waiting to hear from us...

God will not withdraw from us, but we can withdraw from Him. That simple truth, however, does not make it easier to figure out why we feel distant.

Let me ask you this - how much time to youe spend with Him each day? Do you pray? Do you read the Bible? When you run across a friend or a story on the news, do you ponder what He must feel about that person or event?

The fact is, we usually feel distant when we are not even trying to be near Him and then we wonder where He went. Even when we are spending time with Him, we can still feel distant, though. At those times, we must rely on Him and trust in His promise to never leave us.

A quick up date:

I'm starting to feel alot closer to everyone, but there are still times when I feel out of the circle, but now I feel closer to every one. I went to church last night, and i'm making a covenant on sunday in front of my church. Thank you all for helping me. It means so much to me to know that you all care. Thank you again
