I know my Dad's been looking at porn.

Its odd though, cause I also know that he loves my mom very much.

Now I know brother had this kinda problem a while ago, and he is over it, but he was looking through the "cookies" (a computer histroy of sorts), and he saw some explicit sites there. He said he never went there, and I believe him. I have my reasons. And I KNOW I didnt go there.

I didnt really do anything about it though. That was a while ago and on an older computer, but just the other day, I was removing some files that I was moving another computer, and I went into the Recycle Bin to remove them, and I saw what were very explicit video files.
The reason they werent removed is because we just got a computer with Vista, and my mom figured out how to hide the desktop icons, including the Recycling Bin. My Dad doesnt know much about computers let alone Vista, so he asumed they were just gone upon deletion. They are STILL there right now.
How do I know they are not my brother's? Simple. He has NEVER touched this computer. I can promise you its not me. And why would it be my mom?

Several times I have walked in on my my Dad when hes on the computer, however he seems to have shutdown windows real quick to hide what hes doing. He would then get all nervous. I would ask nicely what hes doing and we would be like "Im..checking the mail." and he would go to yahoo.com real quick. I know better.

Whats wierd is that my parents are happilly married. I know that for a fact. If I would bring this up either parent, who KNOWS what could happen. My dad has had problems with more than just porn before, and it nearlly tore my whole family apart. My mom, after hours of talking, forgave him, but.. I dont know.
Even if I showed either of them, I KNOW at least my mom would blame it on my brother, since they made a big deal about what he did. And if my Dad idmited what he did, who knows how this family will be!

Either way Im screwed! :shake:

Saying a prayer.

Though just because you brought it up a few times, I highly doubt this means your dad doesn't love your mom. Love and lust are two very different things. People can get married and truely love each other, but that doesn't mean they won't find other people attractive.

What your dad is doing is wrong, but just saying I don't think it's because their marriage sucks. ^^;

man, I understand how you feel. I will be praying for this situation. I have a similar problem in fact I caught my dad doing the same.

btw You may want to invest in an internet filter. You can find one through http://www.afr.net

Wow. That's a tough one. If you simply ignore the problem, you're enabling the issue - and that's not good.

Here's an option, though. As someone said above, you could install one of the many free filters out there. You could even give your dad a graceful way out by saying you feel it would help *you* not be tempted.

Also, many families have their computer out in the living room explicitly to prevent this from happening.

In any event, we'll be praying for your family!

Hmm. If I get a filter, its NOT going to be stealthy. If it does somthing when my Moms on, she will bring it to my attention, and I will have to say I put it there and of COURSE she will want a reason. Course it would shure catch my Dad off gaurd if he saw it running.

But also, the location of the comp is not the issue. Its 4 feet to the left of the main TV. He had to have done it when he was the only one home, which is not often.

Perhaps it's best to bring it up with your dad in private. Mano e mano.

You might get a filter and tell your mom it's a good way to prevent things, and you wouldn't be lying about it that way.

MSP I think has a good idea there.

A filter is a good way for everyone to avoid the temptation, and stop the accidental going to one of those sites. I am considering one just for myself. I will keep praying.
