Little Things Matter

Postby yukishiro128 » Thu Aug 23, 2007 12:41 pm

This isn't very important, but this evening is my first performance as part of my high school marching band at a football game. We're all in uniform, and mistakes are hard to spot, but...I'm still freaked out. Just like, "Dear God, help Yuki march, Amen." Thanks! <3

I have been in marching band for several years, so I know how that is (except that this year I'm a drum major! No pressure there...).

Did things go well?

Yes, in fact! Only one minor mistake before the main drill even started. You have to cut your Freshmen some slack.^^ Thank you for your concern!<3 <3 <3

That's good.

I remember my first show. The first thing the drum major did was call us to parade rest, but I was far away and couldn't hear, so I thought they called us to attention. So, of course, the entire band went down into a parade rest and I popped up to attention--with a flute, no less! It was so embarrassing, but at least most of the audience couldn't tell who I was!

Good luck in the rest of the season!
