Minesweeper: The Movie

Postby Felix » Thu Aug 23, 2007 7:15 pm

I'm not quite sure if this belongs here, or in Gamers Galore, but this was just too priceless not to share. I was browsing the college humor site after watching the Perpetual Mario Machine and I stumbled on this.
It's a spoof trailer for a nonexistent Minesweeper movie, and it's downright hilarious in my opinion. I love how serious they act in it.

Warning: They say "suck" in the trailer, and I know some people don't like that word. Also, I don't recommend browsing the rest of the site too thoroughly, as there's some decidedly questionable material there.

Enjoy it:

See, now why do movie producers spend all this money making the next cliched romantic comedy when there's *epic* source material right here?

You know what would be even funnier than a real movie like this? A game based off of the movie(since every movie must have a video game counterpart).

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."

What's really sad about this is that I found this short film more entertaining then almost all the movies released here.

I would see it on opening day.

That ranks up there with the Pacman one. Does anyone know of any other spoof game movies? There needs to be a Pong trailer...

To be superficially on topic, my favorite line is the 999 one.

Alexander wrote:Have you checked out Mega 64?

Indeed I have. Worthwhile game-related humor, but I would still like to see more trailers.

That? Notable as well, but they're actually trying to be serious.

What's even more saddening is that this is more entertaining then every other movie made after a video game. XD

Even the Super Mario Bros. Movie.
