Darker than Black 2 & 3. Cool but still a bit confusing. The animation struck me as very crisp and clean. I'd be interested in checking out this series further when it is available.

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. I've just started watching Ouran High School Host Club. ^_^ And I'm surprised at how quickly it's hooked me. I knew it was going to be good, judging from friends' recommendations, but I didn't expect to get this addicted.

Just yesterday I finished watching hand-picked episodes of Samurai Champloo. I rather enjoyed that anime, despite rather frequent randomness and even more frequent bad content. Two of the main characters, Mugen and Jin, were very strong characters. At the beginning, I didn't really know what to make of them since they're both kind of despicable, but by the end I couldn't stand the thought of them dying.

And the end ties Wolf's Rain for the best anime ending ever, in my mind.

I watched over half of the show Haibane Renmei yesterday. That's one good anime! Especially because I was coming up with a bunch of theories about what exactly the Haibane are.

HR also has my favorite anime ending of all time

Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society
Pretty cool, for the most part. I'd really need to re-watch it to 'get' everything, but I rented it and didn't have the time. I did do a content review as I watched it since I noticed there was no CAA review of the movie. I'd need to see it again (and I don't know that I will) to write a full review (synopsis, music, etc) but I did get down objectionable content. So if there is a review floating out there in need of further info / second opinion, lemme know.

DN Angel, on disc 3. Its ok, dialogue's on the nose & a lot of stuff not from the manga. But its cool that Dia's Dad is portrayed in a positive way. Not to many shows let alone mangas that do that nowadays.

Still rewatching Samurai Jack and Fumoffu. And for some reason I keep following "Best Student Council" on On Demand.

Also on OD, Episode 1 of "Godanner". This, my friends, is what we call a "Dog".

"Cat's Eye" (On ImaginAsian TV) is getting into episodes I never saw before. Unfortunatly, it's at an inconvenient time. Fortunately, they are coming out with the series on DVD. I'm definitely buying.

This month's "New Type USA" DVD included Ep. 1 of "The Third", which was disappointing. I'd expected so much more from this one. I didn't even complete the other two sample episodes (Suzuka and something else). Not a good month, there.

On the fansub side, I just saw the first couple episodes of the second season of Zero no Tsukaima ("The Familiar of Zero"). They're still having a little too much fun with Louise-beating-up-Saito-every-time-he-shows-interest-in-another-girl, and now they have Saito sleeping in the same bed with her (in a back-to-back-and-no-touching arrangement) but other than that, it looks like season two will be just as brilliant as season one.

Other new series I checked out, and could probably have done without:
Episode 1 of "Doujin Work". This is like "Comic Party", only ever-so-much less.
Episode 1 of "Sky Girls" (the new TV show, not the OVA). Loli-con meets EVA. Meh. I had guessed it already, but for some reason unknown to me decided to give it a shot anyway. What a waste of time.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.

His and Her Circumstances: DVD Volume 3.

It's a touch on the boring side because it mostly involves the secondary characters, but it's very funny and very thought provoking.

An assortment of things tonight^^ Been a while too... never get alot of time with anime between work and teh Warcraft^^

Kanon 2 ep 5. Once again Hideaki's VA (as I refer to him as^^) sure does being Yuuichi quite a character^^ He really knows how to put personality into the chars he plays. Not that it was the other VA's fault for making the voice and character boring, probably the director/writer's decision on how he would act. I like this new, energetic Yuuichi^^

Also saw Romeo x Juliet ep 8. This show never ceases to amaze me^^ Especially with their endings... Anime=best form of soap operas there be^^

Digimon Adventue ep 16 was also on the list from tonight. I love watching old eps that I've seen a dozen times in english, now in Japanese. If they ever sold subbed boxsets I'd be the FIRST in line!

My explorations of the new summer season stuff coming out over there are yielding better results tonight! What I have found:

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei ("Goodbye, Mr. Despair" would be a reasonable translation) is absolutely hilarious. Probably not for everyone, though. The story of a Pathologically suicidal teacher who is too inept to successfully kill himself, leading a class which includes the most Positive-attitude pollyana possible as well as various other strange characters. It's basically insane. Folks are either going to totally love this or utterly hate it.

Mushi-Uta. No relationship to Mushi-shi. I think the title means something like "Bug Song" Looks very promising.

Finally broke down and checked out an episode of "Maburaho". Yeah, about what I expected. Don't know if I'll see any more of it.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Also, I just saw the first episode of School Rumble the other night. Better than I expected.

"In the total expanse of the human life, there is not a single square inch of which Christ, who alone is sovereign, does not declare, 'That is mine'."
- Abraham Kuyper

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."
- Westminister Confession of Faith (Chapter 5, Section 1)

"The wisdom of God has found a way for the love of God to deliver sinners from the wrath of God all the while upholding the righteousness of God!!"
- John Piper

"Grace is the pleasure of God to magnify the worth of God by giving sinners the right and power to delight in God without obscuring the glory of God!"
-John Piper

"The very One from Whom we need to be saved, is the One Who has saved us."
- R.C. Sproul

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

"The best prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world."
- John Bunyan

"If the Christian has lost sight of Calvary, that shows that he has lost his way."
