I may have to do a little fansub huntin' tonight. I've heard it's good enough we should see a legal release eventually though. Hope so!

Yay! By making me think of Mushishi, you have caused me to research and discover that while I wasn't looking, the legally translated Mushishi hit the US market! I have a new Manga to explore!

This is why threads like this are so cool. A title that had disappeared into my memory as 'This is neat, I'll have to check it out when it's available' is now back in my thoughts.

Do I have time to hit the bookstore on the way home? Hmmm....

Got the first disk of 'Mahoromatic' in on Netflix, screened it, and dropped it back in the mail without letting my kids see it. I canceled the rest of the set off my queue. With just a few scenes omitted or toned down, it would have been just fine, but noooooo...

What were they thinking? The story itself didn't seem anything like it needed the level of fanservice they shoved into it. I had the same problem with 'Ikki Tousen', which could have been a great general audience series. Sigh.

Digimon Savers the movie. Sort just like the very first Digimon movie so I'm guessing it coincided with some other anime movie at the theater. Wow, sure been a while since I saw any anime^^

How good is UFO Utramaiden Valkyrie?I have it on my list to buy but want to know if it's worth it.
Noein starts Monday on Ani-monday so can't wait to see that.

Tonight I start The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya with ep.00
'The Adventure of Miruku Asahina'. :thumb:

Noien reminded me very much of FLCL, only without all the silliness. Noein is extremely serious in its demeanor, but still has the "Dubya tee eff?" aura about it.
UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie (I've also seen it called UFO Girl Valkyrie, and UFO Princess Valkyrie) is fairly decent, if you don't mind fanservice and comedy. It has some serious moments to it, but for the most part its just fun. The first episode actually takes place between the fourth and fifth episodes, so that you know. Valkyrie, a princess of the planet Valhalla, runs away to escape getting into a prearanged marriage, and winds up crashing on earth, accidentally killing a young boy named Kazuto. She apologizes for this by giving him half her soul (frequently refered to as "the most precious thing a girl could ever give a man", several moments of hilarity result from this description), reducing her from the fully grown and beautiful woman she originally was to about an eight or nine year old girl. She can return to her full form, gaining massive powers when she does so, however to do that, she has to kiss Kazuto, and their hearts must "be truely connected." Quite a bit of nudity, considering a large piece of the action centers either in or on the family bathhouse that Kazuto is running, and at least one transformation scene an episode, where someone transforms into a much more powerful form than the one they normally are in. If you're a catgirl fan, however, it is a dream come true, since there are regularly at least 20 or 30 catgirls seen per episode (only on and after the third one, since that is the one that introduces the first one, Ms Sanada, with her "Catgirl Ray Gun")

Romeo x Juliet eps 4-5. Wow... seriously, Gonzo is AWSOME at remakes (although I've never seen Gankutsuou, I've heard great things). The characters are well done, the plot is already 100x better than the original (never liked the play...). I'm just hoping that the show won't end with the original double-suicide. When I watched the Dicaprio version of the movie I was already yelling at the TV out of dramatic irony but in this case I REALLY like the characters v_v.... love it^^ Been a while since I've been this much into an anime (since last year's viewing of Fushigi Yugi). Like Fushigi, every ending makes you want to watch the next episode RIGHT away!

Watch this if you haven't already. Stuff for everyone, I get my shoujo fix and plot and actioness for the guys too^^

Tonight the premieres of Noein,Tokko and Macross Plus on Sci Fi's
Ani-Monday. :thumb:
Yesterday watched episode 7 of Tenchi Muyo.
After the tension of the last couple episodes it was good to have one that was purely comic in tone. :thumb:
It was also more like the manga in tone, especially since it centered around the whole Ayeka vs. Ryoko thing.

Romeo X Juliet 9
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

"And another pan up?"

Personally, I'm still of the opinion they should have stuck with the episode 0 theme song for the rest of the series, even though I really liked the normal opening credits too. Mikuru sounding like she's desperately trying to keep up with a karaoke (and not always able to find the correct pitch) had me rolling on the floor.

OK, I just remembered two more. First is Venus Versus Virus, then there's also Akahori Gedou Hour Rabuge. Neither of which is licensed in the US yet.
