Prayer for a friend who's struggling pretty badly right now

Hey guys. Could you all please pray for member roadoffew? I'm his accountability partner in his struggle to overcome the temptations of hentai and M (you know what I'm talking about). Right now he really needs prayer and encouragement. Not half an hour ago I saw him online and sent a message. He responded with the statement that he doesn't deserve to talk to me, and how he feels (as he put it) like a pervert.

As a good friend, I care about him a lot. I responded in an offline message that the grace I extend as his friend and accountability partner is an illustration of the grace the Lord extends to us. None of us deserve God's grace, just like roadoffew doesn't deserve the grace and friendship I show. I also reminded him that I'm not giving up on him, and neither is the Lord.

Also, if you could all encourage him as best you can, even if it's just prayer. Let him know somehow that you struggled with lust, and were able to overcome. No, there's no magic formula in overcoming any temptation, but you can still offer him some advice. I told him early on that whether it be hentai, porn, or M, each and every one of us struggles with lust in any shape or form.

Again, if you could please pray for him, that the Lord will guide him through this extremely tough trial in his life, and that he remembers that he's not alone in this battle. Thanks, everyone. I appreciate it, and I know he will too.

I'll be praying for him. Lust is very hard to overcome but it is possible with Christ's help. We just need to try to display self-control and run away from temptation. It's a long journey but one worth winning.
Needless to say I still struggle with lust sometimes.
We all do in some shape or form.

Hey, some books that really helped me:

-Every Young Man's Battle (if unmarried)

-Every Man's Battle (married)

Thses books are an easy down to earth easy read. It isnn't all condemning like you would expect. They actually give you a step by step of how you are feeling, and how to overcome it. He won't regret it.

He's read 'em. Maybe he should read them again. Also, I'm planning on sending him my copy of the book You are Not Your Own, by Jason Perry, former member of the group Plus One. His style is very down-to-earth, and I think he'll relate to Jason's experiences.

I'll be praying for him as well. The internet is a scary place, because it almost seems to seek you out, rather than the other way around. The temptation will always be there, but the Lord can deliver him from that bondage.

Thanks again. Well, without going into detail, I held another YIM conference with him and Alexander. A lot was brought out into the open, but we still continued (and will continue even past this) to encourage one another. I'm sure this will help roadoffew out a lot in the long run.
