iPod acting up...

Postby Shao Feng-Li » Thu May 03, 2007 1:52 pm

My dad got me an iPod. It has a plain b+w screen, click wheel. The year on the back is 2004. Well, it's been working fine until today. It froze, and I tried reseting it. I got a screen telling me to go to the Apple website for support...

And the hard disc is making noises! -_- Sounds like... it's skipping. So... help?

I just got the dumb thing yesterday! I don't think it's even charging when I plug it into the power.

And and it won't even make contact with my computer.

Sounds like a dead HDD to me.
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone, bring me back to life
It all starts with a lullaby

It's possible the drive just didn't charge correctly, and couldn't properly spin up. Glad to hear it's working!

It quit again last night and all of today.

Only about twenty minutes ago I hit it against my knee and it's working again XD

Yeah, I used to have a B&W click wheel iPod, and it had the SAME error as yours does. It's an intermittent hard drive error. There really isn't anything you can do but get it serviced by Apple. Fortunately, when mine was acting up, I was still able to purchase the extended warrantee... If you're able to get the Applecare Protection Plan, do it and get your iPod fixed. Otherwise... you're out an iPod. D:
