Neon Genesis Evangelion is a fantastic anime which depicts the psyche of its characters. It also is a great source for "mecha" action scenes which are not to be missed.

It has to be one of my favorite animes of all time. It is very deep...
I just wish I could talk about it with you people here :(

Serial Experiments Lain Vol: 1 is coming in my mail tomorrow. I've been holding back on it due to other series catching my interest first. I'm a little weary of some of the darker themes in it, but the plot seems really fascinating to me.

I'll just have to take a chance with it tomorrow and see what I think.

Buso Renkin eps 22-26. Well, despite all the "guy humourish stuff" in it, I thought it was a pretty good series, had a good ending and everything^^ Well, it HAS an ending too is something to be happy for, because I really thought it was going to be yet another typical shounen series that lasted for hundreds of eps. With it ending nicely and everything though, it was really good (once again, despite the other stuff^^)

Oooh geez. Um, well currently I'm watching:

Trinity Blood - for the second time. I caught it all online before it got licensed, and now I'm buying the DVDs one. At. A. Time.

Gode Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - even though the series just went on hiatus. D: *pines for the last two episodes*

Claymore - I positively adore the manga. I enjoyed the first ep, and can't wait for more!

Ouran High School Host Club - again. My sister's fiance expressed an interest, so I'm watching it with him.

There's a few more I'd like to watch but... I can't think of them at the moment cause lol it's 4 am.
Cause our days were numbered by nights on too many rooftops.
They said we're wasting our lives,
Oh at least we know, that if we die - we lived with passion.
They said we'd burn so bright.
We burn this city and go.

*sighs* No good for Lain. The plot was fascinating, yes, but way too dark for my tastes.

Tomorrow is Ichigo Mashimaro a.k.a. Strawberry Marshmallow.

If your not sensitive to some minor blood, swearing, and how should I say, odd scenes, then you could very well love it.

The scene that really put me off was when Lain went into her fathers room (her father is the most obsessive computer user I have ever seen. He has what I think was 18 towers with 9 monitors running at the same time) and asked him that she wanted to talk to someone online who had died. He responded by giving off this manic, crowish laugh. I couldn't go on after that.

Oh, and you're welcome. I suppose. XD

Fascinating plot and dark atmosphere...sounds like my cup of tea.

Don't worry. If it gets to me, I have episodes of Ouran Host Club saved on my desktop.

If it's any comfort, I like a wide variety of Animes, as I'm uncharacteristically open-minded in that department.

Lain is one of my favorite animes. It is very moody and establishes a lot of scenes with little dialoge. It is indeed dark, but very interesting. There are many red herrings and rabbit trails in the plot. I would recommend keeping a notepad nearby if you are interested in some philosophical research, so you can just wiki it later. :)

Lain is #6 on my all time list.Though I think Alice turns out to be as much the protagonist of the series as Lain herself.

Tonight Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Did I mention I also sent in an order to Rightstuf for The Original Dirty Pair OVA series boxset.Gonna be fun when it gets here.

Watched Neon Genesis Evangelion episode 13 'Liliputian Hitcher' subbed yesterday.
Interesting when Ritusko goes into the MAGI system to get to her mother's notes there's a piece of graffiti that Naoko left behind that says:'YOU JERK,IKARI!'
Also in the dub Ritusko's a bit more ambivalent about her mother as a woman but in the sub she tells Misato:"I really hated her!"

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."

[quote="Brent"]I can understand that! However, The father's reaction is there for a reason. Lain's father turns out to be one of the most sympathetic to Lain's plight, actually.

The darkness is there for a reason, too]

But even so, I just couldn't get into it. I don't know what it was, but something was just missing from it that didn't stick to me.

Anyways, Ichigo Mashimario is wonderfully kawaii, but I'm also planning to find something with a great amount of substance in terms of story or depth. It's just finding something that I'm having trouble with.

*sighs* Tokyopop, please translate Vol 2 of Kino no Tabi faster!'

Oh, and Fish & Chips, I'm very open minded about my Anime and Manga too. I follow the classic philosophy of, "don't judge a book by its cover". So I try almost everything, but it doesn't mean I'll always like it.
