The Tribe - Science Fiction TV series

Postby Warrior 4 Jesus » Tue Mar 20, 2007 10:02 pm

Has anyone heard of this science fiction series? It sounds pretty intriguing - sort of like Mad Max crossed with Lord of the Flies and some other stuff.
The basic premise is that there was a virus (or something) that killed off all the adults and the children are left to fend for themselves. Tribes of children and teenagers occupy the cities and wage war against each other etc.
The Tribe is a joint post-apocolyptic American/New Zealand production from 1998-2005.
I've watched several episodes and it's intriguing (if at times a little to soap-operaish for my tastes). The costuming is amazing to say the least, the acting is (for the most part) quite good and the premise is great.

Anyone seen more of it and know if it's worth buying?

Thanks

I don't think I have ever heard of it.Though when I was at Barnes & Nobles yesterday I ran across a copy of Starburst magazine that mentioned a new series on the British network ITV called Primeval that seems to be a bit inspired by
Jurassic Park.
btw:New series coming to America called something like Life On Mars.I didn't
read through to see what it's about but the gist of the article seemed to be that they were planning on importing it over soon.

Mitsuki, why do you even bother posting in the thread? What you said has no relevance.

Others: Okay cool, thanks. Was it any good?

I was very addicted to this show for awhile C. personally I love season 4 (which you can watch by itself and not really be lost at all) I like the characters in that season and honestly could never get into the others.
warnings though there is a lot of impurities (if you get my drift) in this show, including polygamy *sp* and teen pregnancy. it is also very much a teen soap oprah and though season 4 had a lot of action and scifi to it...there was still sooooooo much drama it got sickening at times.

I guess proceed with caution is the best tip I can give
