Praying for celebrities and artistes

Since the beginning of this year, I've felt moved to pray for some celebrities/artistes: They are human beings whom God loves too and also need as much spiritual help as we do. Regardless of whether we agree with their actions or lifestyles, I'm guessing we'll do far better praying for them rather than scorn them which is what tabloid magazines seem to enjoy doing. >.<

There are a dozen of such individuals but I'll post those that I've been praying for regularly and recently been moved to pray in light of recent events. But please go ahead and post those whom you have a heart for and invite the rest of CAA members to pray for them.

Britney Spears: She seems to seeking happiness in all sorts of places and not finding it. Now that she's in rehab and seems to be doing destructive things to herself, I really do think we should pray for her. Maybe pray that God will lead her to someone who ultimately leads her to Him. It may be a long shot but I've seen God reach out to the most impossible cases. I think the same goes for Lindsay Lohan. I sincerely feel bad for these talented and beautiful girls who but yet seem so miserable.

Hyde: OK, this is a fangirl bias but I think I've seen Hyde subtlely using spiritual elements in his solo albums. Regardless of whether he's using it fashionable to make his songs more attractive/cool or whether there indeed is some deep underlying meaning to it, I've been praying for his salvation. I typically add in the rest of the L'Arc-en-Ciel members and Gackt.....simply because I don't know much of the other JRockers.

Jars of Clay, Delirious?, Steven Curtis Chapman: My fav. Christian music artistes - I pray for God to continue to lead them in their works and for His blessings/protection over their personal lives (i.e. relationship with Him, relationship with others, family, financials, health). May He use them mightily and give them the strength to endure any temptations or difficulties they may encounter in their efforts.

I've wondered the same thing about Hyde. I've prayed for him before too.

I've thought of this before, actually, praying for famous people in the public eye, but I kinda figured I'd get weird looks if I brought it up. ^_^; Thanks for posting this.

Oh my gosh!! My Lenten project this year is to pray for a different celebrity everyday! That's so cool that you've been praying for celebrities too!

It is sad with celebrities. They have enough money to buy ANYTHING they desire, and yet end up on a variety of drugs to keep themselves "going". Once again, it's not just celebrities, it can be anyone falling into that, but from there it's easy to say that money REALLY can't buy you happiness :/
