I could use some help...

Postby SMoonEmpress » Tue Jul 15, 2003 10:58 am

Hello everyone!
I've been hired to make a website for a company, and have gotten a pretty good start. However, I'm not sure how it looks on other computers, as well as different screen resolutions. Here is the address:

http://fairy-dust.net/dcs

I used tables, and in Internet Explorer on my 800x600 resolution everything looks peachy. When I open it up in Netscape, it only looks okay. For some reason, the tables don't stretch completely across the screen like they're supposed to. :bang: And I can't figure out why!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Also, if you're in the neighborhood, check out my site at http://fairy-dust.net. Thank you everyone!

Hmm, yeah, I can see that it's not quite working right. I'm using Mozilla, a fairly new version. You might try setting the left table cell width in pixels instead of percent. That's just a guess, though. I like the design! :thumb:

Also, set the body margin and padding to 0px in a style sheet if you haven't already done that already.

Example:
BODY { margin:0; padding:0; }

This will make the tables stretch on all sides instead of just top left.

That should work. I've tested it out on mozilla (on win98) using a similar layout and it works.

 Thanks so much, guys! I didn't even think to use a stylesheet. -.- I think that did the trick though!

Would someone mind checking it out on Mozilla though, for me?

THANK YOU again!

Here's exactly what's happening right now. :( It doesn't seem to have changed...

BTW, I'm making the assumption that the button in the left margin is supposed to be lower. If I'm mistaken, forgive me...:)

> Mozilla

On Camino 0.7 (that's a Mac OS X specific version of Mozilla), it does indeed stretch corner to corner.

Thank you so much to everyone!

And thanks for the screenshot, inkhana! Actually, the button IS supposed to be there. I guess it does look a bit ackward...I might change it in the future. But looking at your screenshot I see that some of my colors are a bit off (namely the peach in the body and the peach in the pointy divider thingy. lol, real technical name, huh?)

Thanks again to everyone!
