It looks pretty good, actually, and it's got some great actors in it. Unfortunately, I don't think it's anywhere near my town, so I'll probably end up waiting for it to come out on DVD. xD

I heard that this is an amazing movie, forgive the pun. ;) The only problem is the amount of theaters showing the movie has made it hard for everyone to see it. So if it is showing in your area please support movies like Amazing Grace, The Last Sin Eater, or One Night with the King to ensure that they have a bigger budget and thereby more theaters to release them at. ^^
God Bless,

Maybe I will go see it. It looks like a decent movie. Movies like this for me end up usually being one I like or really dislike.

I know what you mean we had to drive to a distant theater to see it. (even though there are a ton of theaters near here none of them had it) but if you guys can get there please do go! it is worth it!

I liked it.

Though one complaint amongst more conservative viewers (who knew history) was that the film conveniently glossed over Wilberforce's Christianity.

I saw it not really wanting to go watch it [would have preferred to see 300, and hopefully Dad and I will].

When the movie ended, I said to Dad, "We need to get this on DVD."

I loved the dialogue; it was very snappily written and delivered.

Ingy: I don't think they "glossed over" his Christianity. Did they make it the central theme of the movie or beat you over the head with it? No, they did not. But they did, IMO, make a good point about it. The early part of the movie is about his question of whether he should serve God or go into politics, and the answer given was that he could do both. His scenes with Newton, as I recall, reminded the audience of the part Christianity played in his life and motivations, and these were spaced throughout the whole movie. YMMV, I guess.

Top-notch film, at any rate. Go watch it ASAP if you haven't already.

On an historical aside, maybe one of the reasons why Wilberforce and the others were able to accomplish what they did when they did it was because George III was himself a devout Christian.
