I think their new one is really good.
Perhaps my favorite that I have heard but I've only heard the following:

-Still Life (Whole CD)
-"Patterns in the Ivy" off of Blackwater
- A couple songs off Ghost Reveries

I really enjoy Opeth. I only have their "Blackwater Park" cd, but I might get more. Personally though, I find their lyrics a little weird.

Agreed to the 4th power.

Is Saints by Destroy the Runner worth a buy?

They seem like a poppier version of As I Lay Dying, but for some reason, they seem a tad better.

I know you said they're boring on their album, but just HOW boring?

At first it seems like that, but they're surprisingly fresh. And the lyrics are quite good and uplifting :thumb:

Yeah, that's where I originally heard them. XD

Are there any really good songs on the album not from there?

I'm mad because I'm going to be missing a Norma Jean and Chariot concert. Oh man...Why couldn't it be one day later!?!

I don't really know, because I don't really know many of the song names...
However, I would say that the album is worth getting if you really like stuff like As I Lay Dying, Haste the Day, UnderOath etc.
I second what Ichigo_89 said, the lyrics are really good. That's probably my favorite part of the cd.

Yes, I think all Solid State bands are on iTunes.
So, what are some of your favorite thrash bands? Here are some of mine:

Metallica (MoP being my favorite, KEA next, S/t, AJFA)

Megadeth (Haven't heard a ton by them, but I really enjoy RIP and TSHF, and what I've heard of PS...BWB)

Anthrax (Among the Living, Madhouse [the song])

Testament (liked what I heard of the samples...)

Living Sacrifice (1st cd, awesome thrash)

(I tried doing a forum search to make sure I'm not repeating anything...)

Have any of you seen the documentary Hells Bells? My Uncle got it for my mom, who has always had a love for secular rock and metal. She never watched it, but my girlfriend and I did, and it was pretty darned cool. It was from the 80's I reckon, so the dude has a mullet and a stache...but nonetheless, it made some very convincing points. I got rid of one of my favorite metal band's collection after that.

*EDIT: Not to say I don't still listen to secular metal...

I guess I'll follow suit of what I'm supposed to be doing in this thread:
Favorite Metal Band: Type O Negative
Favorite type of metal: Sludge?
Favorite metal album: TON's World Coming Down
Top 3 favorite metal songs of all time: TON - Pyretta Blaze, TON - We Hate Everyone, TON - Day Tripper (Beatles cover)

I'm almost ashamed of my list, but I've been weeding out some of my favorite metal bands lately so there's only a small number I really enjoy these days.
It's pretty obvious to me-- live action Yuki would be played by Michael Jackson.

Has anyone heard Becoming The Archetype's new stuff? They have a new song on This Is Solid State vol.6 called "Epoch of War" and oh my flippin gorsh it's pure metal bliss my friends. Sooo many styles of the best types of heavy music all combined. All I'm gonna say is it's gonna be one Heck of a bludgeoning when this CD drops.

There's two new songs by Becoming The Archetype on their myspace. One is straight up heavy, and the other takes on a black metal type of style. VERY very good and interesting how this album will range in style.
