Majic wrote:To put that in perspective by way of contrast, the night I first watched Haibane Renmei (not long after watching Akira, in fact), I marathoned it in about six hours, said "whoa!", then marathoned it again -- and after that, I watched it yet again before finally getting some sleep the next day.
I've seen the whole series 56 times in toto, and it remains my favorite show -- anime or otherwise -- to this day.
That would be the opposite of disappointing. ^^
Mr. SmartyPants wrote:Interesting you say this. I too am a major fan of the Dystopian Genre. (1984, Half-Life 2, etc). Exactly what was bad about Geneshaft? If it is Dystopian, It seems like something I would enjoy. However I'll take your opinion into consideration.
Radical Dreamer wrote:Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch: I was really enjoying this one quite a bit, until those two antagonists were added in (Me-Me and She-She, I think their names were). In spite of the fact that they were the "bad guys", they still really just didn't sit well with me at all. If the series ever got licensed, though, I'd probably still buy a few of the DVDs with episodes that came prior to their entrance. They just kind of ruined the latter parts for me (even though the latter part of season one does have its highlights).

Advent Children-To this moment I still can't find an actual plot, I think SE dumped in the recycle bin of day one productions.

The Place Promised in Our Early Days was also kinda...meh. I watched it because my sister has it, but I don't think I'd rent it or buy it myself.
Ranma 1/2 got boring to me quickly. I love InuYasha, though the artist's (who's name I'm not about to butcher in spelling,) endings stink in general, on the off-chance she ends her animes. (I've read the InuYasha manga is still running in Japan.)
Not anime, but I was hyped to read my littlest sister's Nauruto manga, because the basic premise seemed intresting enough, but I found they cured insomnia better than entertaining. I didn't even bother with the anime.
Prétear's manga was a disappointment after how awesome the anime is. (The manga did come first, and I like some of the character designs better in the manga (cough*Kei*cough,) but the plot was...dumb.)
These are my opinions. They cost nothing and are worth the same.
