prayer for a kleptomaniac relative :/

For those who don't know the definition, it means someone who is a compulsive theif.

So, this is my step bro's daughter (through marriage) who apparently has this issue going on for many years and hasn't stopped :/ Yesterday, we had to look after her for a bit (not exactly "babysit" since she's about 10/11), and she denied taking her friend's iPod. She stayed over at a friend's house the night before and apparently her iPod went missing, which she's denied to everybody. Then, after her parents opened up the backpack she brought back with her, they found the whole thing stuffed with stolen stuff from her friends'!

Now, her mom doesn't make too big of a deal about it and the way she thinks is "they can't do anything to me, cause I'm underage" and the whole attitude and the act of it, just irritates me >_< I see enough stealing at work as it is and it's just... gah! But in her case, it's a breech of trust too. Stuff like this just gets me mad^^ But with such impulsive stealing, it's not so much coveting other people's stuff, as it is just doing it cause she can :/ Oh, and she's taken money too on many occasions, from family and other friends and so on. Luckily when she came to our house she took nothing.

Now, I really wish I could do something about it, since her mom obviously is taking it too lightly. Almost wishing I could scare her by like, reading some verses about that sort of thing about stealing, lying, etc. Not even too sure if she's actually saved, but I think goes to church sometimes, listens to Christian music and so on.

So, I ask for prayer. ONLY God can help her with this, that is, if she is ever willing to change. Young now, yeah, but she KNOWS right from wrong. All kids do since they've been told the difference (which also bugs me with many cases of people being too light on the kids, but that's a different story).

Prayers much appreciated^^

Ill put it on my Midnight prayer list,

Can you take her to a prison and show her someone who steals, and what happens to them?

That's an idea... Not sure if it would be totally allowed, unelss under court order. Not sure about others countries like America, but here in Canada we're quite linient. Even if someone steals, they usually have to pay a fine or whatever. Not USUALLY end up in prison, but still.
