As the title says, a friend of my family and our church passed away last week on Wednesday; I found out about it yesterday when our pastor announced the funeral which is today at 2:00pm.
I won't announce his name because I guarantee you won't know him, but he was a great man, as far as I knew him, not that well but I got to talk with him a couple times. He was an elder and didn't have good hearing at the time, so he always wore speaker phones to hear the pastor on the microphone. I always felt good whenever I saw him, he was about in his mid-70s maybe in the 80s, I don't remember.
He was a good friend to my family; he spoke good words of wisdom last time I talked to him.
I just can't get over the fact that he's gone. Again, I didn't know him well, but I knew him enough to know he was a good man. I'm sad, but not sad-tearful. I know he is home now, and he can hear much better without the speakers, heh.
All I ask is for a prayer for his family, that they'll get through this time of mourning and soon remember what he did in the past.
Thanks.
