Jaden - since you're about done with your tutorial, we could go ahead and use yours for March. With as many potential tutorials as there are, we'll probably end up doing a new one every two or three weeks, but I want to do a run to see how everything works for one whole month before we get fully into this. Thanks though, and we'll look forward to seeing your tutorial in March!
If you want, you can send a draft of it to me via PM, and I'll check it over - I did that for Photosoph's tut for February.

Mechana - that'll be great, thank you. The vector tool has been kicking my butt. ^^

I have a quick Q.
Photoshop vector or illustrator vector?

The cybernetic arm was done in PS BTW.

I've only used the vector tool in Macromedia Freehand (similar to Illustrator, although cheaper). I've been some-what successful, but the curves in a picture always frustrate me.

Mechana - I was thinking of the vector tool in PS, that's what I had remembered that you did that picture with.

I don't know if this would classify as a tutorial or not, but I'm working on my Naruto Downtown Headband Project this Saturday (and hoping it doesn't rain!) would that count?

If you're doing a tutorial, go ahead and start whenever you can. That way it'll be done when it's your turn to teach a session. I'll notify the person doing a tutorial at least two weeks before it needs to be posted, but if you want to get it done early, feel free.

Khaki - I'm not sure what all your project entails to say whether or not a tutorial could be done from it. If you want, PM me more details and we'll go from there.

Hrm - I guess, just use your own discretion on which you would like to do first. I'm not going to be very rigid about the schedule of who does what and when. Phososoph and Jaden already had started/revised specific tutorials, but for the rest of the scheduling, I'll ask people generally who is willing to do a tutorial next, and let them choose which one to do out of the list that they've offered/been requested to do. But if there is an outcry for a specific tutorial from someone, then I'll probably ask that they do that one. I'm planning on spacing out the schedule of artists, so people aren't doing tutorials every other session.

Umm... what do you want to see in a tutorial... like... objectwise. Or should I just do something cool and technical?
Should I go from the simplist stuff in pen to fairly technical?
EG... what do you want to see?

Maybe show the basics in using vectors, and then walk through a medium difficulty project, and give some extra tips at the end for doing something more technical.
?
It's up to you what you'll draw in the tutorial, if you want to draw something technical/mechanical or something organic. Whatever you feel most comfortable with.

I think I'd really like to see the basics in working with the pen tool, but maybe you could work in later in the tutorial more medium-level techniques etc. Or you could leave that for a tutorial in another month/week.
But I'd really like to learn how to use the pen tool/create vector lines, as a beginner to this type of work.

thats what mine is about! ^_^ it teaches the basics of the pen tool and then shows how to use it for linearting!

I just thought of something! XD

I wouldn't mind seeing a good marker tutorial (you know, Prismas, Copics, those kinds of markers. XD). Seeing some tutorials on coloring and blending techniques would be pretty cool. :thumb:

That sounds cool... though I'm not sure the true definition of 'markers'. I think it's the same word for what we call 'felt-tip pens' or just 'felt pens' over here... but maybe 'markers' includes higher-quality pens in its definition than just the brightly coloured ones kids of about 5 use? I'm not trying to be insulting, by the way... not at all. I'm just not sure of all the different pens the word 'marker' refers to.
I have some that may be 'markers' that I've used quite a bit... their brand name is 'tombo pens'. They're double-ended, you can blend them, and if you put more than one 'coat' of the colour on (can't think of the right word, so 'coat' will have to do for now ;) ) it'll become brighter/darker. Maybe these are the ones you two are talking about. o_O?

Tombos certainly count as markers. I have experience with Prismas...but not probably for the kind of art you're thinking of. (I've used them for rough shading on sketches, nothing highly finished). Besides, i'm already working on a tutorial.

I've seen alot of art from people using Copic markers, though they're pretty expensive from what I hear. I'll go ahead and mark down 'markers' as an open request.

Hmm... I might be able to do a tutorial on markers... but I need to do some of the other ones first. ^^" Besides, I'm not sure exactly what to teach about them.
Good to know that tombos=markers. ^^

Aside from that, the computer I was using to do the tutorial is away to get fixed... I was going to do a few screenshots, but if I don't get that computer back in time (though I probably will) I guess I'll just have to grab the files from where I uploaded them and do the screenshots here. Shouldn't be any problem, though. I've already got the tutorial saved in my Saved Messages folder.

Gotta love this age of technology. XD

Photosoph, since you're already doing quite a few others, do you want markers on your list, and will just do it after the other ones you've offered have been done, or do you want to leave it up for dibs?

I don't know if I would end up using the format anyway... but would it be all right to submit Flash tutorials in a .swf format? Or in a .jpeg step by step format? Or both? Any thoughts?

.swf is Flash file type, ne? It's really up to you how you want to put it together. Whatever works best/easiest for you. Though, if you do use a .swf, make sure to link to a Flash player, if people don't already have one on their computer.

:edit: That's okay mssthang. ^_^ Is there anything you would like to see done as a tutorial, or would like to do yourself?

This sounds like we have a conflict of Tutorials... swhould I just go with the higher levels of use, such as shading, or still do a basics section?

mechana - I suppose since Vernhal is doing pen tool basics, you could go ahead and leave off the basics section, unless there is something specific to doing vectors with the pen tool that you'd need to include. And this tutorial is all yours - feel free to go as advanced level as you would like.

As for the screenshots and computer matter, the computer I normally use is ready to be picked up; it's fixed. I should be getting it back today. ^_^ I just wanted to mention it yesterday in case anything did end up going wrong.
