Maybe if we stopped worrying about genres and labels and started just worrying about listening to good music, we would all be a lot happier.

What the world needs now is Love. Sweet Love. That's the only thing that there's just too little of.

Fo' shizzle.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

My friends are not helping the emo situation. Buddy got me Emerys 2 CD's today. I must say that some of it is really good...and some is..ok. Some is very soft and emoish. Other songs are very heavy. Suprised me actually.

I'm fond of emo. Not all emo. I'm not quite sure why, but Emery never struck me as incredible. Some of their songs are very creative, (Listening to Freddy Mercury) but in my mind they are lacking something, although I'm not sure what. I actually just bought Underoath's two latest albums and I'm quite happy with my purchase. I think emo really appeals to me because the song writing is typically variant, catchy and very expressive. Really, all it takes to grab my attention is when musicians put passion into their song writing.

Meh... I'm just saying that it's not cool to call a band something that they're not.

Real emo is an offshoot of hardcore punk, which Emery and other related bands are not usually described as. I'm just saying.

My question to everyone here is why argue over nothing so what if the band doesn't like to be labeled... So what if Emo or Emery is Cool ( never heard them don't have opinion on coolness of said band) Why are people choosing to argue over this when they could be talking about God and everything else that has to do with the kingdom of God

I am sorry if I have offended anyone or come across as preachy that is how I feel about this though

Bwahahahaha Oh how the great ShatterheartArk has fallen! XD

PS: I'm not an emo fan but one of my best buddies is. She typically drives the rest of us nuts by playing her emo songs collection during roadtrips. I'm not totally wild about this genre but neither do I have any issues with it. Have fun getting sucked in deeper and deeper, brother.

Since Jamie also likes Emery, couldn't we laugh at both of you and call you wimps collectively? Heh, I wouldn't do that anyway. Be proud of what you like, and don't listen to what other people say. If I did listen to what other people said about what I should and shouldn't listen to, I'd probably be just another one of those scene kids who practically lives at the downtown concert venue.

EDIT: I lol'd

-._.- I hope it wasn't anything that I said that got you upset ShatterHeartArk... what I said about you being emo...it's based off a stupid song that I heard on YouTube...

umm..like I said it's awesome that you can listen to emo music...I don't recommend it to everyone...because of what it can do. It affected someone really close to me in a really negative way...once she started listening to this genre she changed a lot. She never smiled...she was always on edge...I dunno...that's the only reason why I can't like this genre...it has really changed everyone I know into moody and well.. "emo" people. :/

But I am not bashing you or anything...so... I am sorry if I offended ya...
I have never heard Emery...perhaps it's just because they were listening to bands like Him and My Chemical Romance...

Yeah, Steve, it always starts out innocently like that. "Oh, it's just one CD." Then it's "Oh, it's just a handful of bands." Next thing you know, you're wearing girl pants and eyeliner.

Or, atleast, that's how it happened for me. ;)

*Note: Osaka is a fan of Emo and is definitely just kidding.*

meh, i dont consider myself emo but get really emotionally involved in some "emo-esque" animes. Saikano for example. Doesnt mean its a bad thing though. If you start writing songs though and crying a whole bunch then it might be a problem.

Well, neither of those things typically constitute "emo-ness". XD I mean...Elton John writes/wrote songs, and he's not emo. XD Just stay away from the eyeliner, slanted haircuts (pleeeaaaseee), and girlpants. XD

Black nail polish = love. Although... I am a bit biased.

Yeah, for some reason black seems to be the only acceptable nail poilsh color for guys. I remember watching Showbread's "Mouth Like a Magazine" video and Josh Dies had red and black nail polish. I thought that was weird, but what makes black so acceptable and not read?

Red and Black was their color-code then.
