Keep off the deck chairs.

jon_jinn wrote:i personally like 20th Century Boys more than Monster because it is more fantasy-like (not as realistic). i also think that 20th Century Boys has a more intricate plot but that's for readers to decide...
Fish and Chips wrote:20th Century Boys is definitely my favorite, but Monster trails not far behind. Though in Monster's favor, I don't need to impatiently wait two years for it to reach American shores.
Mr. Smartypants wrote:20th Century Boys is amazing, though I'm more of a fan of psychological thriller, hence why Monster ranks higher than 20th CB for me XD Monster was more scary, dark, and horrifying. I likey =D
jon_jinn wrote:actually, i think 20th Century Boys is coming in stores in 2007, but i'm not sure. yes. both mangas are EXTREMELY well done. i think 20th CB is urasawa's bigger series because of its length and it's still going in japan if i am correct...
Fish and Chips wrote:I've heard it's wrapping up in 2007, but Urasawa requested VIZ publish all of Monster before they started running 20th Century Boys. Patience is usually one of my favorable traits, but not this time.
Mr. SmartyPants wrote:Right, he requested it to be published after Monster (Viz was going to release them simultaneously I believe) because he wanted to show his progression of art-improvement.
Fish and Chips wrote:Just polished off Monster yesterday. Bit of a love-hate view on the final ending, though. 20th Century Boys is still my favorite, but Monster sits respectfully right below it.
I've heard Urasawa has another project in the works, something dubbed Pluto. Check that out next, more than likely.
Mr. SmartyPants wrote:Pluto is pretty much a spin-off/sequel to Astroboy. It's pretty interesting, but I haven't read much of it.
jon_jinn wrote:i remember PMing you about this manga. i've heard some pretty good things about this manga, but then again, it IS an urasawa manga. i haven't read it yet but i'm pretty sure i will later on (if viz doesn't license it anytime soon...)
