Why??!!

Postby Inferno » Mon Feb 23, 2004 4:38 am

Why is it that I aways have to make a thread that tells people about the stories I write? NOONE HAS EVER REPLYED TO ANY OF MY STORIES WITH ME MAKING A THREAD ASKING PEOPLE TO READ IT! You guys read and reply to everyone elses poems and storys! Why can't you read and reply to mine? I mean my stories might have A little bad grammar and spelling but who cares?
here is a link to my latest story like anyone cares:http://www.christiananime.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5649

You paragraphed. Praise the Lord. For this, I now feel obligated to read and seriously review your story. Also, the link is helpful.

But please, no more of these threads.

To answer your question: I'm generally too busy to read most of the works in the writing forum. They're generally longer and require serious thought, something I don't have while rushed.

Don't think you're the only one, either. I've posted many times over what you've written without a single response. For that matter, don't assume that because no one responds, no one reads. I don't know why you wouldn't but this is the situation at times.

I never read anything in the writing forum unless someone specifically asks me to look at their work. I simply have neither the time nor the desire to do otherwise (keep in mind that I am speaking in general terms).

I hardly go to the Writers Forum and don't intend to for a while. Please, Inferno, why don't you PM certain individuals especially the writers? That should guarantee responses. I can understand you urgently need feedback.

I hope you'll give careful thought to UC's request(s). Thx

A lot of times I read stuff, and just don't have anything to say about it because I'm horrible at critiquing other people's stuff o_O You can look at how many times a thread has been viewed to see if anyone's been lookin' ;]

But I do understand the need for feedback. My writing suffers without it, yet I never post any anywhere or let people see it o_O I don't like to show it to someone unless they have the time/interest necessary for giving me good feedback...

I went to writing forum a little while ago, and I noticed something interesting. There are a handful of stories with dozens of replies, then there is a much greater number with only 0-5 replies; so, it appears that you are not the only one who doesn't get a lot of feedback. This doesn't necessarily reflect badly on your writing, it's just the way things are in that forum.

Ermmm........... interesting. ~__^

Not that I don't care or anything. I just rarely critique the stories I read in the writers forum. Don't get all wacky over it.

For that matter, I rarely post any sort of reply anyway. hahahah :D

But that doesnt mean that I dont care. I read all the crazy stuff in this forum, yet I rarely reply to any of it. ^__~

Just because ppl don't reply, it doesnt mean that ppl dont care about yer writings or what ya wanna say.

I usually don't read stuff in the writing forum and rarely do I post in there and no one responds, though I know people do read them.

I just don't have the time, the wanting to, or the energy too......

I'd LOVE to read and critique EVERYONE'S work in the writer's forum, instead of mainly posting, but:
1) time constraints...it's just not possible
2) attention issues.

I'll try to read and post a critique of your work sometime, though. ^^

As others have mentioned... time constraints. I regularly look for new writing by 2 or 3 specific people whom I have come to admire, but I do not have time to read everything that pops up in the Writing forum... or in ANY forum, for that matter.

And, on a side note... please don't whine; it's unbecoming and it hurts my ears. :)
