Ah, another one I don't think I saw back when I read the list:

I said on the world map. In cutscenes everything is fair game (the same way that characters who survive being shot, poisoned, and hit by meteors can be killed by a sword in a cutscene).

Raiden no Kishi wrote:That actually makes sense for JRPGS, since they would base their money system on their yen, which have no decimals.

The yen is not, however, a worldwide currency.

the stats for characters mainly revolve around: HP, MP, attack, defense, resistance, magic, speed, and intellect. if not, then the stats are simply replaced with fancier names that are applied the same way to the game.

I got one.

Any adorable, bubbly little girl with a cutsey and harmless toy is capable of annihilating any well-trained, amazingly strong, battle hardened veteran soldier in full combat gear; frequently massacring said soldiers in large groups. This especially true if she is wearing something pink and/or frilly.

I don't know if this has been said, but when you either team up with a "veteran soldier who has been through many battles" or you ARE one of these veteran soldiers that have been through many battles, you start at a low level.

I think this applies with FF4

main character - well rounded: decent attack, speed, magic, and defense
big bulky guy - extremely strong but very slow. high HP, but low MP.
magic user - fast and high magic and MP. bad HP, defense, and attack.
quick guy - fast and pretty high magic and MP, and decent attack. bad HP and defense.

I did just that for Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Unfortunately, I lose interest in Lost Age, never got to the point where you meet the other characters, went back, had no idea where to go, then my friend borrowed the first and second from me...soon losing it.

aw man, it sucks that your friend lost your games. anyways, golden sun was like my favorite RPG series for gba. i would also say that fire emblem and megaman battle network were, but they weren't sequals to each other so it's not as interesting. the first golden sun left you with a cliff hanger so you'd want to buy the second game.
i actually liked the series so much that i spent a good 70 hours training all my characters up to level 99 and getting all the summons, the djinn, the best possible classes and best suitable weapons and armor for each character.
