Uninstallation problems. I'm being tormented.

Any help ANYONE can provide will move me to kiss and grovel at your very feet. Or at least asterick rp it.

It has to do with the Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

Yeah.

First off, I should say I should have checked more carefully if my computer could run oblivion. I failed to note, even though I have a gigabyte of RAM, my video card was terrible. Therefore, I installed Oblivion and can't even get past the "play" button. I decided to uninstall it and get a new video card, but when I attempted to uninstall it..It reads this message:

>SetupDLL/SetupdDLLL.cpp (390)
PAPP: Oblivion
PVENDOR: Bethesda Softworks (bethsoft.com
PGUID: 35CB6715-41F8-4F99-8881-6FC75BF054B0
$11.0.0.28844
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.2900.2180
(Ok button)

Then after I click O.K., It reads:

Setup has experienced an error.
Please do the following:
-Close any running programs
-empty your temporary folder
-Check your internet connection

All of which I've tried multiple times. I just want to free up the 4 gigabyte space in my computer, since I can't play Oblivion yet, but I can't uninstall it! It's enough to make me writhe on the floor in agony. Do you have any idea on what to do to uninstall it? Anything at all?

Anything?

Help is immensely appreciated.

If I were you, I'd just delete the game's subfolder in "Program Files" manually.
(Normally, this leaves a bunch of useless registry enries, but if you're going to re-install the game anyway, it shouldn't cause much trouble)

EDIT: quote from elderscrolls.com:
"
Installation Issue
If you repeatedly uninstall and re-install Oblivion, certain systems will display an error message if you try to uninstall Oblivion again. To fix this, put your Oblivion disk in and run setup.exe. This will clear up the error and you can uninstall and reinstall the game."
