Knowing Where Our Security Lies

"There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God."
I Samuel 2:2

The rock badger hides in the crags in the rock. They are grayish in color and blends well with the rocks. When a predator comes to attack, they will run into a hole, the crag in the rock. The vulture or eagle must sweep down on them before they get into the rocks.
The badgers know where their security lies. If they decide to go off to the field or forest, venturing away from the rock, then it is vulnerable. It doesn’t matter how courageous they are, it doesn’t matter how strong or fast they can run, the most courageous badgers can fall victim to the smallest wolf or lion. When it wanders away from the rock, a badger is dead meat.

If you have the wisdom of a badger, you’ll know where your security is – the Rock of ages. The security you must have is the security of God himself.

Prayer: Thank God for the security in life and eternity He provides for you.

"Did any of you, parents, ever hear your child wake from sleep with some panic, or fear, and shriek the mother's name through the darkness? Was not that a more powerful appeal than all words? And, depend upon it, that the soul which cries aloud on God, The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, though it have 'no language but a cry,' will never call in vain.'"
~Alexander MacLaren
"The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending, then having the two as close together as possible."
