「京アニ水泳編」/「ひで」

Much like the threads before it, this is a thread I created for the discussion of new anime that will be airing on TV in Japan in the Summer 2013 season. Anime typically gets released and runs for a number of seasons. The year is divided up into four seasons: January to March is winter, April to June is spring, July to September is summer, and October to December is fall. Each season is approximately 13 weeks.

Here, we can talk about what shows look interesting, what we plan to watch, and generally get giddy and excited for things that we've been anticipating for a while.

Wow, what a packed summer. Let's see what looks interesting....

Servant x Service - I am enjoying Working!!, so maybe this will be as fun. Seems like it has potential.
Monogatari Series: Second Season - Is it Gahara's turn this time around?
Senyuu. - The legend lives on.
Kiniro Mosaic - Actually, this might be wonderful or stupid. I will be optimistic, though.
Silver Spoon - Yes, farming anime. I will relive the fond (or not so fond) memories of my childhood. *_*
Brothers Conflict - I am commenting because I'm shocked they didn't get Miyano for this; and how do people keep track of all these characters? How. But, I might watch this because I'm dumb.
Free! - I will be definitely watching this, but I am terrified to talk to anyone about it. Terrified.
Blood Lad - It looks somewhat promising? Don't let me down, Brains Base.
Uchoten Kazoku - Can't get the PV to load for me, but I will probably check this out.
Kitaku-bu Katsudou Kiroku - Researched more, and it turns out there is a "go-home club" in this anime. I am not sure how this will play out, but sure, I'll give it a watch.
Dangan Ronpa - I keep seeing stuff from this, so I am curious if it will be any good or not.

Yeeeah, this may be way too much for me to keep up with. I might just watch Free and Silver Spoon and leave it at that.

This summer of sequels is going to make me watch so much. This might actually be the best season in years.

Symphogear G - Nana. singing. trainwreck. but Nana.
Monogatari S2- really curious to see how they decide to storyboard the weird timeline. that plus, production order got screwed because Kizu where? Also, PLEASE SHAFT GIVE US THE SHIOGI-CHAN CAMEO.
Silver Spoon - let the animated Hachiken suffering begin! also bacon.
Rozen Maiden - Umm so is this going to continue anime original material, attempt to go back to manga, or is it a remake?
Fate/Kaleid - magical girl Illya. they got Shizuka Itou for Luvia.
Free! - kyoani is a genius. A rich, terrible genius.
Blood Lad - should be interesting? maybe. dunno. only thing I'll definitely try that I don't know anything about.
Neptunia - moe consoles voiced by most popular seiyuu. are they seriously not including Hanakana?
Genshiken Nidaime - this is actually happening. wow.
KNIM - the highest level of romance trolling, so an anime was inevitable. not going to watch but still, lol.
TWGOK S3 - finally get some good arcs animated.
Teekyuu S2 - I don't see this on the list. please maintain the godly-tiered speed humor of first season.

who knows if I'll watch anything else...hypehypehype

The ones that look most interesting to me are:
Silver Spoon - From FMA creator... gotta be good. :)
Stella Women's Academy, High School Division Class C3 - girls with guns - I hope it's like Gunslinger Girl and not like Uppotte.

MAL has some pretty terrible synopises..es..es.. plot summaries.

Here's one from tvtropes that actually makes (some) sense:
Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi (The Sunday Without God) is a series of light novels written by Irie Kimihito and illustrated by Shino. The series tells about a young girl called Ai, who lives in a world which God abandoned 15 years ago. Because of this, new humans are no longer born and the dead can no longer die. Only the mysterious people known as "gravekeepers" are able to give peace to the dead. Ai, who is half-gravekeeper and half-human, works as the gravekeeper of her own village, despite of her young age of twelve.

However, Ai's life changes drastically when a man who introduces himself as "Hampuni Humbert, the 'Man-eating Toy'" arrives in her village and slaughters everyone in the village - although he's unable to do so properly, as he is not a gravekeeper. After helping them to find peace, Ai decides to follow the man in his travels, believing him to be her long-lost father. And so their journey begins...

Kyoto Animation's next cute girls boys doing cute things anime. A bunch of guys in high school used to be on the same champion swim team in elementary school and parted ways until most of them were reunited in high school.

I was going to just sort of giggle for a while that this became a thing (and that people are getting all excited for it) but then I saw that one of the guys has blue hair and uh basically I will be watching it now.

I might look into Silver Spoon as well? And other things? I guess I'll see what people say and what other craziness I have going on in my life.

You have to remember that KyoAni plan and produce their projects years in advance. The first swimming promo art was up without anyone noticing for about a year before the CM ever aired. It's based on a winner of KyoAni's light novel contest thing in 2011. If you look at Chu2koi, you'll see that it won in 2010, got published and got an anime announcement in 2011, but didn't air until the end of 2012. As much as tumblr or crunchyroll might want to believe otherwise, KyoAni didn't just decide to make it a thing in the course of a month.

Also Silver Spoon is hella legit, especially if you liked FMA.

Watching no matter what:
- Silver Spoon (Been following the manga. Am hyped for the anime. Anxiously awaiting cast announcements.)
- Free (KyoAni, sports drama, and moe guys.)

Will look into:
- Uchoken Kazoku (Them designs. And comedy.)

Other than that...It mostly looks like sequels to things I haven't watched, spin-offs of things I haven't watched, or cute girls doing whatever. I'll wait and see if there's anything that everyone starts raving about once the season starts.

Oh I know. I guess I phrased that badly, but I do know it's been in the works for a while. I'd just thought it was funny it turned out to be real.

Oh man I've been meaning to read Silver Spoon for ages. Apparently I'm really bad at getting around to reading things though so I'm hoping I'll have time to catch the anime.

Read what little of Kiniro Mosaic's manga was translated. It reminded me a heck of a lot of A-Channel, but with a lively foreigner replacing sullen Tooru.

I'm hoping the VA for Alice can at least speak English correctly, but it's definitely hoping for too much that she can fake a British accent.

I can only hope "Free!" has a plot and character development and stuff, 'cause, you know, I'm a guy. If it's the male-character equivalent of K-On! only with swimming instead of music then sign me up because K-On! is one of my favorites.

I'll probably watch Free and Silver Spoon. Haven't checked out any of the other shows yet, so can't say Y/N about anything else.

LOL. But yeah, pretty much this.

So, right now, I guess the only Summer shows that I have set for sure are Free!, and Silver Spoon if it's adapted well. :)

Other stuff I'm probably going to check out:

Servant x Service
Kiniro Mosaic if it's not terrible.
Brothers Conflict just until I find out if all those boys really came from one mother.
Blood Lad
Uchoten Kazoku
Dangan Ronpa

Newest noitaminA CM has some Silver Spoon footage and reveals that there's a second noitaminA show in summer and the two noitaminA shows in fall are going to be original. People had been wondering if noitaminA was going back to one show because no one had said anything about a second show for so long.

I'm jumping on Tamayura, Kiniro Mosaic, and Gatchaman Crowds like nobody's business. |D

And, of course, the long-awaited "swimming anime".

I feel like there are only a sparse few that are going to watch Free! for the characters and plot instead of the fanservice. I think I'm one of those few...

Like quite a few people, I'm also going to be watching Free! and Silver Spoon. Do you think whether of these will be legally streamed online? Also, I second the character development for Free! I've checked out the manga of Silver Spoon and I found it to be really good, so I'm super excited for it \^^/
