Found while idly flipping through my well-thumbed copy of the Anime Encyclopedia. We will bend our usual rules against unlicensed fansubs if someone finds this. Seriously! This must be shared with the world!

LAWS OF DIVORCE AND INHERITANCE. 1989. JPN: Horitsu, Rikon, Sozoku. Video. DIR: Kazuki Sakaguchi. SCR: N/C. DES: N/C. ANI: Keiichiro Okamoto. MUS: N/C. PRD: Koh Planning, Yang Corporation. 60 mins. x 2 eps.

An unusual public-information series in which helpful lawyer Taro Bengoshi talks the viewer through the fascinating world of divorce relating to marital violence, adultery and irreconcilable differences, as well as methods for dealing with a partner unwilling to consent to divorce, general procedure, division of assets, compensation, parental rights and child support. The second episode concentrates on inheritance, planning a will, the rights of legitimate children, rights of children from a former marriage, renouncing the right to inherit, finding missing fortunes, intestate wills and procedures for dividing assets. One to remember next time someone suggests that anime is nothing but Pokemon and porn.

Wow. It's kind of mind-boggling that something like this exists.

That actually sounds..pretty interesting.

If it was to get a remake today, it would probably be a moe girl talking about divorce laws.

Which would oddly enough make it even more awesome.

Hahah that sounds like a very interesting anime! I really would like to see the creators' views on these situations.

There are probably others, but this one was too good not to post.

I'm still looking for it.

Solid gold.

@ChristianKitsune. I can't stop staring at your sig. It fascinates me. The guy looks like Josh Groban.

@shooraijin It's rare to find something like this. The closest I've ever seen is that one manga that teachs you about calculus.

Man, can you imagine what would happen if some BAD subbers tried to do this? It can be painful enough watching subs by people who don't have a full grasp of the languages at play. Imagine those same people trying to make sense out of legalese they don't understand!

...actually, yeah. Now I want to see this too!

Yes, only the bad subbers could do this justice.
