I am asking this out of curiosity. Lately, I have been getting into moe anime and wondered if anyone liked these kind of shows and why? Also, what characters with moe elements do you like?

I'm a fan of Kanon (2006). All the girls are very Moe, but they're real characters despite it, and I really felt for them.

Same for Sora no Woto and Haibane Renmei (yes, HB counts for me!).

Basically, if they fall into 'cute' but not necessarily 'adorable', and they stay out of stupid-fun antics, then I like the show.

It's kuuderes all the way for me, or taken even further, the Blue-Haired Autistic Girl, hereafter abbreviated as ABHG (because I don't like 'BHAG'). The characters don't necessarily have to have blue hair or be officially autistic (or even be a girl) to fit, they just have to act that way. Examples include:

Kannagi NoÃ«l of Sora no Woto
Tachibana Kanade ("Angel") of Angel Beats
Hoshino Ruri of Nadesico
Lafiel of Crest of the Stars and sequels
Morimiya Aono of Sola
Ayase Yue of Negima
Ayanami Rei of Evangelion

I like Haruhi Fujioka (sp?) in Ouran. (Is she Moe?) But I don't like her just because she's cute. I'm not sure why I like her, actually. XD Maybe because she's so mellow.
