Do you always watch those anime intros?

Do you guys always watch the OP or ED animation sequences whenever you watch an episode of an anime, or do you tend to skip them from time to time?

Depending on the series, I will either watch the OPs and EDs all the time if they're both good, or I'll skip one or both of them if they didn't grab my attention for the first time.

For instance, I love the OP theme/animation for Last Exile, but I skip the ED for that show. And I simply skip both sequences in Ghost Hunt, since they're so boring to watch.

Sometimes. Usually I skip them sometimes I'll listen to the OP and ED for one episode and then skip them for the next episodes.

It really depends on the song ^__^ Or, if I really want to get straight to the episode, I'll skip the iintro XP

Depends on how much I like the song/animation and how much time I have. x3 I will of course always skip a song that I don't really like, obviously. If it's a song I like, usually I'll either watch the OP/ED or let it play in the background while I do other stuff, and start watching when it's over. And if I'm short on time I skip both OP and ED, even episode preview sometimes.

Usually, I'll watch the OP and ED for one or two episodes and then skip it. If the music is particularly awesome (like, say, Cowboy Bebop), then I'll watch it again.

Well... I usually watch episodes in pairs, so...

I always watch the OP (unless I'm pressed for time) for my first episode, skip it on the second.

And unless I really like the ED, I'll skip it on both episodes. Two example ED's I like... this season's Naruto (because I LOVE Halcali), Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (my favorite ED ever), etc.

If they're not terrible, I'll usually watch them and let them set the mood. Some studios, like SHAFT, like to play around with the OPs too and change some details in the animation, which they've done in ef, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Hidamari Sketch.

If I like the song, I don't mind watching the OPs and EDs. But if I'm watching a bunch of episodes in a row, I tend to skip them. Also, I tend to skip EDs more than OPs.

I normally watch both, but it definitely depends on how much I like the song, and how much time I have. Currently watching Witch Hunter Robin, and I watch both the opening and closing, especially since there is a prologue, and a little message at the end..

With some, I would watch the opening and endings a couple times then just skip them later. If I hadn't seen the series in a while, I usual watch it. I always watch the OP and ED for Lucky Star. Also, I love the Opening to Kuroshitsuji. The ending is so cute, also! XD

I love Last Alliance, so I always play their ending in Ouran.

Yeah, and I really like seeing the different series OPs and Eds.

I pretty much always watch the OP, unless it really starts getting on my nerves. For the ED, I'll usually watch a little bit, and if it doesn't really catch my attention, I'll skip it because I want to get to the next episode. Although I always watch the ED for Bleach and Lucky Star cuz I like the funny stuff afterward. XD And for certain other anime, if I really like the ED, I'll always watch it, like the second ED for Full Metal Alchemist, or the Haibane Renmei ED.

Let me just put it simple. On TV-I'll watch the OP and ED, if the OP or ED is horrible I'll just mute the TV. On dvd- I'll either fastfoward or watch it depending on how much I like it or how many times I have seen it.

I've never found a end credit sequence I liked enough to keep watching the ending. The ending on Basilisk was the only one I watched a couple times cause it was actually pretty good. But generally the ending parts are boring or horrible song choice.

With the OP it depends. Most of the times I like the opening credits so I'll watch them every time I sit down for a new sitting (if I watch like 3 in a row Ill watch it once till the next tiem I sit down to watch the next episode(s).

I tend to watch the OP for the first episode in a sitting, then skip it for the rest (unless I really really like the music). ED animations... 90% skip ;)

It depends. If I like the opening and the ending, I'll watch it more then twice. If I don't like it, I'll skip it. Most of the time, even if I like the opening/ending, I would skip it anyway to get to the episode(s).

I love the openings. I wish tv broadcasts would actually put them both on the show, instead of skipping them like they do most of the time. (Cartoon Network fails miserably in this regard)

@ Rocklobster- I agree. I never did see an OP for the Inuyasha series due to this. I only saw the ED.

It also depends of if there's a Huge cliffhanger, then I definatley skip the OP to get to the episode.

Haha, that reminds me of all the "Last time on DRAGON BALL Z.....!" and "Next time on DRAGON BALL Z...!"

Typical DBZ Intro:

"Last time on DragonBall Z..."
"KAAAAAAAAAAAAMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..."

Typical DBZ Ending:

"Next time on DragonBall Z..."
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..."

And this, boys and girls, was what held our rapt attention for some 200+ Episodes.

Back on subject, there are some anime that you can't help but watch over and over again. "Planetes" is one of them--not only is the opening song "Dive in the Sky" epic win, but I just recently discovered that the creators changed bits and pieces of the opening sequence as the series went along to match with the plot.

"Lucky Star" is another opening sequence that's about 50/50. Sometimes I skip through it, sometimes I just let it play! If I didn't like the opening song "Take it! Sailor Fuku" then I would probably skip it.

I watch the opening animations every time until about 4-5 episodes in, unless the animation changes every few episodes (think Pani Poni Dash, Negima?!, Soultaker or Goodbye, Despair-sensei). But I hate most of the closing animations, with a few exceptions (like Pani Poni Dash or Evangelion).

Simply put:

GAGAGA! GAGAGA GAOGAIGAR!

Even more simply put:

If the OP is awesome and gets me hyped up, I make a point NOT to skip it. I typically don't like ED. (I didn't like GaoGaiGar's ED either, except in the ending).

Well, yeah I guess you're right about that. But I never got tired of it I can tell you that much. And if you were to play me a marathon of DBZ, Id watch it anyway. For me, it was just that good because I really didn't have any friends at the time(Well come to think of it, I still don't really have any friends. Oh well.) so I just turned to DBZ VHS tapes. It's kinda sad, but I have no regrets.

Usually if I'm watching anime alone, I will almost always watch the opening. The endings get iffy, but I like most of the ones on the shows I watch. Generally I watch them because I like to sing to them... ^_^;

But when I'm watching anime with someone else, and we're doing more than one episode, we'll usually skip the intro and stuff to get to the next ep.

Oh, and I usually make it a point to watch the OP for the last episode of any series. It just seems special ^.^ Although it irks me when they use the same old ending sequence on the last episode. It's like, THIS IS THE LAST EPISODE! MAKE THE TIME COUNT AND GIVE US A DIFFERENT ENDING SEQUENCE! XD

Ooh... thanks for the tip! I've just started watching Planetes, I'll keep an eye open for that.

That song scared the living crap outta me when I first played it. I didn't expect it to be so...energetic...

And with regard to "Planetes" and without giving too much away, look for the scenes with Hachi looking at his EVA suit right before the song goes into the Chorus, and also pay attention to the character lineup towards the end (before Hachi starts running for some unknown reason.)

The ending to Kuroshitsuji is completely English, which is awesome. I've noticed most endings can be somewhat mellow, but Kuroshitsuji's is rather peppy.

It depends on if I like the OP/ED and how impatient I am to know what happens next.

BTW, Higurashi's OP is AWESOME!!!
