IS there any high quality (or CG) anime galleries out there that is organized, and has some decent non-ecchi pics, perhaps of nekos? Nekos have been a hobby off mine lately... I would like to find one that has random art, non associated with any one anime, like advancedanime.com but without the ecchi.

I understand your concerns--I've been looking for something like that too. The ironic thing is, at least at first glance, the site you mentioned is much less indecent than most. (I mean, most seem to have no limitations whatsoever on the images.)

A while ago, I was writing a website that could browse image gallery sites like Danbooru while filtering out the ecchi content, provided it's properly marked as such, but it's too hard to work on when I have school at the same time (and when my laptop is dying).

Blargh

Yea, and photobucket has nudity all over it, so I suppose no image searches are safe.

To tell the truth, you've given me a lot more motivation to continue my project. I have a preliminary version that's only set up to search one site (which is sorta dead). As soon as I change it to search others, I'll post a link. But until then, you'll have to make do with our own CAA galleries.

Well good luck! Yea, plz tell me what the link is!

Okay, I'm done updating it. I can't directly control the quality of the images, so there may still be a few somewhat ecchi images that are labeled as safe, so be careful.

Changes I may yet make before creating a whole new version are support for tag blacklisting and support for searching more websites.

And here it is. http://wall.org/~lewis/aii.cgi

I put a lot of time into making this interface, and I'm really proud of it, so please tell me what you think of it! :jump:

Among other things, I think I need a better name for the next version, so if you could help me come up with one, I'd appreciate it.

Some info about how this works: The websites it searches are tag-based. So, if you want, say, pictures with cat-ears, search for "cat_ears". Note the underscore, which replaces the space in multi-word tags. You can search for multiple tags at once by separating them with a real space. You can keep it from including post with certain tags by prefixing the tag with a minus. So, if you want wings but not bat wings, search for "wings -bat_wings".

Oh, another problem. When going to images on Danbooru, you get a 403 Forbidden message. I can't fix this myself, because your browser sends a "referer" header with it's request, which Danbooru rejects. However, if you press enter in the url bar again it'll be fine. Or if you right-click the link, copy link location, and paste into the url bar. Or, even easier, if you have the tab bar visible, just drag the link into the tab bar or onto a tab.

That is really cool! Can you tell me more about the backend?

Backend? What do you mean? The backend is the part that sends requests to the imageboard and gets results back. Or do you mean the whole thing I have here?

If you want to know what the program itself looks like the "download" link will show you. It's really messy though.

Also, sorry if anyone ran into weird errors recently. When I was modifying it earlier today, I was working directly on the live version, which is a big no-no in the computer programming world. :eyeroll:

Oh, if you wanted a little more info on searching, I'm adding it to the post with the link.

I had never seen a web site function like this so I was curious as to the specific tools you used to implement it. I also wanted to know specifically how the filter worked. A cursory read-through of the source code has answered both of my questions, so thank you for directing me properly!

This really is neat, though. Thanks for working on this.

If you have any cool ideas or suggestions, go ahead and tell me. I'm currently wondering whether to make a new version of this or just make my own image gallery site. The former is much more likely.

I find your interface useful, however I do still see minor ecchi, however it is much better. Thanks!
