Anyone here like or seen Boogiepop Phantom? It looks interesting and after reading a lot of content reviews it seems tame give or take the themes and violence of the show. I still wonder why Anime Netwrok rates it TV-MA?

It's pretty gory in my opinion. I mean quite a few people die some bloody deaths, especially in the first four episodes. I thought it was a well-written show and quite thought-provoking. If you can handle the gore, I recommend it. There's a review on this site if you need more info.

Violence is certainly the reason for the ratings, although many other anime are worse. Compare it to, say, Elfen Lied or Tokko, the level of gore just isn't in the same league. Even so, I don't think I would go so far as to call it 'tame'.

That being said, I'm a huge Boogiepop fan (the books) and I find the anime a good treatment (although it picks up very late in the books, and doesn't explain a number of lesser details that I guess you were supposed to know from the books. You can piece most of the backstory together, though.)
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.
