CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

I just recently purchased Inu Yasha Second Season Box Set: English TV Version at my local video store. I've seen a different boxset for season 2 that is advertised on other websites like amazon.com and store.viz.com released to purchase as well. The one I bought is also advertised on amazon.com but is out of print.

I was wondering what the difference is between the two. Is the English Version edited? Does it have all the episodes? The English TV Version has only 3 discs whereas the other version has 5 discs. I'm just confused to the difference between the two items as they both bare the "VIZ" mark on the back of the boxes.

Now, the box set I purchased is much slimmer and more compact then the other one which is thicker and in an actual box. Plus, what I paid for this particular box set was $24.99 versus $99.99 for the other. If the one I bought is legit (which I am hoping it is) and it just doesn't have the limited edition box, Japanese subtitles/audio, and IS NOT EDITED I'll most likely keep it but...

I'm also wondering if this is some kind of bootleg but then again a video store wouldn't sell a brand new copy bootlegged...at least I wouldn't think they would. XD

hmmm... some companies put out a "slimline" boxset version in addition to the regular boxset... any chance that could be the case here?

From the info that I got, its a slimline boxset. I think the reason why you may have got cheaper is because the item is out of print, but this is only a guess and info that I got.

I even ask a friend of mine that is a big time Inu Yasha fan and keeps up wit the boxsets and he never seen this boxset before. But with the VIZ logo on it, I really feel that it can't be a bootleg, that if some bootleg company really wanted to make you think this dvd was made by VIZ. Also, it does say Region 1 and it does have one of the covers that VIZ used.

So, to me. I'm about 95% sure that this is the real thing and not a bootleg.

Yes, it is very slim and it is the one Roy is displaying in his post but is it edited at all? Because I hate edited shows... >__> Since it was on the CN I'm wondering if it's been edited out but if it's not and it just does not have Japanese Audio/subtitles I'll keep it.
