Best place to buy online?

Postby Scarecrow » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:57 pm

So wheres the best place to buy anime online? ATM, I have an amazon cart stuffed with bunch of anime series but I'm wondering if I can get some of these cheaper. I know Escaflowne I've seen for like 30 bucks at best buy so I was wondering if theres a cheaper place to buy these (Best Buy doesn't have much) online.

Actually for Escaflowne i think'd i'd go best buy (store) its 33.99 plus tax. Other than that i'd say Right Stuf. And if your extra daring you could try Ebay but then you'll 90% of the time get Bootleg'd anime XD so Go rightstuf

Ah thanks :D I was price checking and though amazon doesnt have as much, the prices are still generally better (or the same) on amazon with a few exceptions (like escaflowne).

Anyway, this is good.

Here are a few price list for Escaflowne 'Anime Legends' DVD Complete Collection.

Animenation has it for $29.99 before shipping cost.

Rightstuf.com has it for $29.99 before shipping cost.

Barnesandnoble.com has it for $44.98 before shipping and Member price its $40.48 before shipping.

So, your best bet is Bestbuy. But I'm not sure what % is for your state tax, that is if you have one or not.

You've checked the used amazon products right? That's where I do my main anime shopping. I also endorse right stuf, or buying direct from the distributors.

Mhmm, ya I've check the used ones but you don't get free shipping buying from them :P Actually ya if I'm buying one or two items or something I'll get it from a seller as long as it's still new and shrink-wrapped. But usually I buy a few at a time. Feels like christmas when the package comes :D

Amazon, be careful the sellers sometimes sell boot leggs

Then you can report them. In my experience, amazon has been fairly generous with refunds.

Wow, anime series are cheap in the US!
Here they cost about $150 when they are released and a long time later (like several years) they may drop down to $80-$100.

I think it depends on how they're released. Most of the stuff I'm looking at come in thin packs or all the DVDs in one pack... the old Neon Genesis set was released as a regular set (regular dvd cases) and still costs like 130 dollars... The newer thin pack (really skinny dvd cases) is like 80 dollars but I got it on amazon for 45 ^_^ Ah My Goddess FINALLY did something similar... 150 for a "premium" box set (6 individual regular DVD size cases) or $54 for all in one "case" (I had been waiting for a thin pack release or something of that series for ages and just noticed the other day one had been released a few months ago =) )

Samurai Champloo still doesn't have a thin pack set or anything like that so if I want that its still like 180$ =(

So I don't think its that much cheaper here :P Unless you were referring to the thin packs and stuff... if thats the case, I don't wanna know how much the normal set costs there >.<
