I saw a preview for that at the movies last night. ^__^ I still haven't finished FMA due to various difficulties, but if I can make it before then, I'm definitely seeing the movie. And maybe dragging a couple of friends along if I can manage it XD

No they're just replaying them in select theaters.

If only my town actually played anime in theaters. XD I think the only thing we've ever gotten was Spirited Away. Not that I'm a terribly big fan of either film, but I'd definitely like to have a chance to see anime on the silver screen at least once. XD

Baton Rouge isn't exactly anime friendly either. I think the only things in our theatres were Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Spirited Away. One out of two ain't bad.

And when they mean select theaters, they really mean very select theaters. The thearter that is close to me, that is showing these movies are a hour and half drive.
Not to say that cities are non anime friendly, but most anime movies that hit the big screen are showed in art house thearters or semi major cites.
Just about all of the anime movies to hit the big screen here in Georgia are showed in art house thearters and most of those are in semi major cities of Georgia.

Dude...I live in a part of town where about 30% of the population believe that Pikachu is demonic...need I say more? Offtopic, I have to say that my mom has finally accepted Naruto as being standard viewing for my nephew! She even knows how to PRONOUNCE it!

Oh wow... they're showing the FMA movie not too far from where I live. Probably won't go to it, though.

All that says is, its a crappy city and nuff said.
I think it has to do with money. Alot of places worry about showing anime, because it may not bring them any money in.
Plus, you have the elitist groups that will not go see it, if the anime movie is dub and so why take a chance on showing a movie that people will not go and see.

(They're actually showing it in my STATE this time! And more importantly, in my town. Yay. Now I just have to convince my parents to drop me and Mega off at the movie theater (neither of them would be interested, though Dad might) for two-ish hours, and I shall be happy. Yay.)

Wow, I'm lucky, then. O_o This particular event will be at a rather major theater near us, as was the Naruto movie when it came out... and I saw Howl's Moving Castle in the theater as well, in an art theater not too far from here.
